Worthy's trade reflects poorly on 2012 draft

Even Demovsky's cribbing us now.

NOTE: All but two of these guys are still in the league. Which is to say, they're good enough to play, just not on OUR team. THANKS TED.

All this talk against fans who "only want to win the division" and I haven't seen a single person actually say they don't want to win the Superbowl every year and only care about winning the division. Where are these guys you are talking about? Everyone wants to win the Superbowl every year but it's probably not going to happen in any given year no matter who your GM is. If you only enjoy football if your team wins the Superbowl all the time then you aren't going to enjoy it no matter which team you follow. Look at NE they've had probably the best QB/GM combo in the last decade with 0 Superbowl wins. They only won Superbowls before Brady was even in his prime, since then he's become an even better QB and 0 Superbowl wins. NO also good GM and HC/great QB, 1 SB. Why?

Is this because all the GMs actually suck or because it's hard to win the Superbowl? I get 2011 and 2012 were embarrassing playoff losses, that shouldn't happen but remember 2012 our D was actually decent that year but Dom got straight outcoached in that game. I'm not saying you shouldn't want this team to win more Superbowls but you shouldn't get your panties all in a wad when it doesn't happen every year.

Exactly! Winning the super bowl every year would be fantastic, however

The Oakland Raiders for example had a big need at QB. They traded up to 23 right before the Packers and took ........ Fabian Washington. =d>

Do all fans feel that Uncle Teddy and Co and doing all they can to bring the best players possible to GB? I personally don't think he is. I think there is a certain amount of "let's field a team that will go 10-6 or so and take our chances". Would another GM in his place? Heck if I know.

Ted did a heck of a job getting GB out of cap hell but he seems to be so gun shy that he doesn't want to go anywhere near it ever again.

It is tough to win SBs no question about it. A draft and develop organization needs to be extra good in the draft part and in the develop part than most of the other teams. I don't see that with this organization.

A draft and develop team needs to get something from the 1st and second round players. They make up the backbone of the team. If the other draft picks develop into something special that is a bonus.

Teddy's draft picks:

2005 Rodgers and Collins. Both outstanding players but tell me Ted went to the draft expecting to be able to draft either Smith or Rodgers. That was pure luck on GB's part and stupidity on the rest of the league.

2006 Hawk, Colledge and Jennings A lot of people have blasted Hawk unfairly. He plays. He is not Nitschke and he does what he does well enough. Colledge was adequate and thought he was better than he actually was. Apparently so did AZ. Adequate but not outstanding. A lot of people were upset with small team undersized Jennings. I guess Teddy proved them wrong. Then again- was it Aaron that made the WR? Was it being a part of a pretty good stable of WR that helped him out? Maybe even so he was a decent pick.

2007 Harrell and Jackson Injuries or not this is a Bust and a disappointment.

2008 Nelson, Brohm and Lee Solid pick, and 2 busts. We will never know how Nelson will fair with another team and another QB. Well except if Aaron gets hurt again and his numbers plummet.

2009 Raji and Matthews Maybe Raji isn't a bust but he has certainly been disappointing. Then again CM3 has been disappointing in the number of times he has been injured. It is also disappointing the number of times he has been double and triple teamed. Where is his counter part?

2010 Buluga and Neal It is disappointing how often they have been injured too.

2011 Sherrod and Cobb it is disappointing when people say that a first round pick has one more year to prove himself and that he should not be considered a bust. I know it is not his fault his leg was broken. It is not as if he forgot to stretch and pulled a hammy. Bad things happen. It is disappointing Collins was injured. It is disappointing that many other players have been injured. It is disappointing that Sherrod falls into that category too.

2012 Perry, Worthy and Hayward Not really fair to classify any of them yet. Worthy may well go on to have a stellar career. For his sake I hope so. His life in GB was a disappointment none the less.

Not doing 2013 and 2014.

For a team that lives solely on draft and development there are too many busts 3 without Worthy 4 if you include him and disappointing careers 5 or 6 depending on where Worthy is placed. 9 out of 19 players. That is almost half of them did not meet the expectations of a #1 or #2 draft pick. (8 out of 16 without the class of 2013.)

Getting back to your comment you can win a division with success like this but you won't be very competitive in the playoffs against other team who do a better job or drafting or at least supplementing their draft with quality FAs.

I absolutely want to win the superbowl. However I still feel the first goal is to win the division. In my opinion once your in the playoffs anything can happen. I think you have to have more luck than anything. More often than not, the "best" team in the league does not win the superbowl(in my opinion).

1. Don't win their division, or
2. Make the playoffs as a wild card.

I to would like to know, who if anyone is available that could do a better job then Ted Thompson?

I'm not gonna hold my breath waiting for an answer to a direct question, "huffy" can only develope theories that he tries to pass off as facts.

That may not be the case in the end but I don't think there's a lack of talent here right now compared to other teams.

Alright, I have a theory!

The Packers know Jerel Worthy will FAIL his physical, thus, null the trade. This trade was orchestrated for the sole purpose of giving Worthy a ... excuse the pun ... a worthy kick in the ass to stop feeling entitled to a spot on the 53!

Now it all makes sense, you can go to sleep.

Over Aggressiveness in free agency results in the redskins. I just do not get the Ted Thompson hate. If anybody on this forum can give me a better GM that we can obtain right now (with stats to back it up) give it to me please!
