The Green Bay Packers on Thursday signed Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, whom the team took with the 21st overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The safety fills a big hole on Green Bay's back end.

Cool, got the rookie signed. Now get him on the bench so he's ready to play next year.

I am so damn excited to have this kid playing for the Packers... been way too long without a top S talent back there.

I think HCD wins the starting job and gets 5 picks as a rookie. Aside from his superior coverage skills, he's been a captain and play caller for the Alabama secondary, leadership we've lacked back there the last couple seasons. Hyde is a decent player and can play nickel but I loved that we got this guy as he was predicted to go 10 spots higher in the draft and fills a major (imo our biggest) need.

Dom's D calls for 3 Safeties.... essentially. Love Hyde being there too. This is going to be fun to watch.

Dom's D calls for 3 Safeties

New Orleans likes to use a 3 safety nickel, and I think this is going to start becoming the norm. Why? Because teams still need to be able to defend against the run even when short a LB and they have to cover 3 WR and a TE most of the time. A third safety has reall become a hybrid between the extra corner and a LB. Hyde is good in that role because he can cover some and he hits. Incidentally HCD is a decent hitter for a cover guy as well. If the pass rush improves this year as I think it will, the D is going to be awfully good.
