Jermichael Finley may have a future in Green Bay after all. The free agent tight end will undergo testing on his neck with the Green Bay Packers' medical staff Wednesday, according to a source.

Coming back from an injury the hardest part is not physical, it is mental. The best thing for Jermichael Finley is returning to an offense that he doesn't have to think about. That would mean the Dolphins or Giants or of course the Packers.

If he is cleared to play, I don't think it's going to be for anything more than a one year deal doubling the veteran minimum with incentives. It would be a win win for both sides.

Do we wind up with 4 TEs that include Quarless, Rodgers, Lyerla and Finley? I suppose stranger things have happened. They love Finley. Man. I would just be shocked if he were cleared to sign with the Packers after such a short recovery period, but, they love Finley. Maybe they clear him enough to sign with a plan to PUP him. He could be stashed there until mid November.

With Finley on the preseason PUP, they could essentially run with 3 TEs and save a roster spot to start the season.

I do think this is how it will play out. Because, they love Finley.

I'm glad this is finally happening. Now, we can move on from all this will he or won't he talk... shades of Brett Favre's retirement stuff. I just hope our medical staff doesn't sit on the results for days and days, but that's what'll probably happen.

Strange how Finley is talking like a Packer all of a sudden while a few months ago he was trying to get himself to Seattle.

No testing on Wednesday the 28th per Rob Demovksy of ESPNwisconsin.com ....his agent called it a "process" and called for "patience". Sounds like this won't be cleared up anytime soon.

Unfortunately, I just can't seem to remember much about the Nick Collins situation after his injury but I feel like it was just sort of...blah. He was injured, season went on and then the off-season came and nothing ever came of it...he was just gone (correct me if I am wrong). I think that's what makes me happy to see some sort of progression out of this whole thing.

If he can get back to his pre injury ability ... Great! ... if not ... oh well. Like to still give him a shot; he was a cool TE on our team. Been awhile since we had a decent TE like him.

Sounds like Finley was just given medical clearance to play again according to BleecherReport.

While Dr. Maroon is not affiliated with the Packers, he is the team neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Quarless isn't even out there and he's supposed to be our #1. If Finley returns, we better cut someone making some good money or there won't be any extensions for Jordy or Randall.
