I found this interesting... Here is an up to date re-grading of the Packers 2011 draft...

21. Green Bay Packers (10 picks)

1 (32) OT Derek Sherrod, Mississippi State; 2 (64) WR Randall Cobb, Kentucky; 3 (96) RB Alex Green, Hawai'i; 4 (131) CB Davon House, New Mexico State; 5 (141) TE D.J. Williams, Arkansas; 6 (179) G Caleb Schlauderaff, Utah; 6 (186) LB D.J. Smith, Appalachian State; 6 (197) LB Ricky Elmore, Arizona; 7 (218) TE Ryan Taylor, North Carolina; 7 (233) DT Lawrence Guy, Arizona State

The good: Despite missing more than half of the 2013 season with a broken leg, WR Randall Cobb has established himself as one of the young playmakers in the league. While his days as a return man are probably over, Cobb is a versatile threat Aaron Rodgers will find quite a bit in 2014.

The bad: In an average-at-best running back class, the Packers drafted RB Alex Green in the third round. He registered only 475 yards in two seasons before being released prior to the 2013 season. He was signed with the Jets, but averaged only 3.2 yards per carry last year and his roster spot is in jeopardy.

Jury still out: After a demoralizing leg injury as a rookie, OT Derek Sherrod has yet to start a game in the NFL. He has battled injuries and setbacks, but is expected to be healthy for training camp and, although he likely won't win a starting job, can be a valuable reserve for Green Bay if he stays healthy.

Re-grade: C+

NOTE: THE ORIGINAL GRADE AT THE TIME OF THE 2011 Draft
FOLLOWS....

Green Bay Packers

Best pick: Second-round pick Randall Cobb is a perfect Green Bay player. He will fit their pass offense perfectly and take over for James Jones, who might leave.

Questionable move: Hard to find any. But -- and this is being nit-picky -- maybe not taking a rush linebacker in the first three rounds could be it.

Third-day gem: Sixth-round pick Ricky Elmore is a nice pass rusher who will play outside linebacker in their 3-4. I really like this pick.

Analysis: The rich get richer. Ted Thompson is one of the best at stocking his roster. First-round pick Derek Sherrod will take over at left tackle in a year or two and Cobb can be eased into the passing game.

Grade: B+

I like looking at the bright side of things, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how that draft is a "C+" (which is the re-grade) looking back on it now.

OT Derek Sherrod, Mississippi State
WR Randall Cobb, Kentucky
CB Davon House, New Mexico State
TE Ryan Taylor, North Carolina

These guys are the only guys left, because of injuries Sherrod is basically still a question mark/back-up. When fully healthy House might be the #5 CB... and Taylor seems like mainly a good ST only.

Cobb is good but to get a C+, I would of thought you were need at least two guys that have contribute more than the other three.

We're putting lipstick on a pig. Whether due to injuries or a polio outbreak, the fact is there is 1 relevant contributor with any appreciable starting time from this group. If you had consecutive draft classes like that would you have any hope for success? Any form of a "c" is being generous. Even a "d" is tough to justify.

If an entire draft sucks should all the teams get a D or an F for not finding good players that didn't exist?

A brutal draft.

It is a very, very good thing Ted Thompson hits in UDFA. He basically got guys like Sam Shields and Tramon Williams to produce like 1st round picks which offset his terrible misses in Round 1.

If Ted Thompson ever retires as GM, I want to retain him in the capacity of finding UDFA's as it is what he's best at. Bolt that quality onto a GM that uses FA and knows how to find talent up high, and we'd have the greatest GM that has ever graced the NFL.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I'll say it again. These players are STILL IN THE LEAGUE.

Just because Ted has stocked this team with so much talent, that it's hard to crack the lineup, doesn't mean that his drafts suck. It means our team is very good.

If the Queens drafted these same guys, they'd almost all be starters. Would that mean the draft was "better?"

If you want a meaningful comparison it has to be relative to what was available and what other teams did.
