I think they actually cut him and are on the hook for several million this year because of it.

I don't think he actually got any salary from the Bears this season. I think it was his prorated signing bonus that hit the Bears cap but I could be wrong.

He won't be as cheap for us next year though and if we cut him we will be in a similar situation (though not quite as bad) If we keep him he will count 12 mill against the cap and if we cut him he will count 5 and whoever signs him will probably be saying the same thing about us that we are about the Bears right now.

Another good thing is that he won't count against the Packers when it comes time to figure compensatory picks. James Jones isn't having a terrible year in Oakland and I'd think he would net us a 4th.

OLD THREAD ALERT

Yeah it was a salary cap dump, but the guy can still play. A very poor lack of judgment on their, very happy to scoop up their crumbs.

But overall balanced as the other team was taking one away all year.

But you could be right, maybe Peppers got run down. .. hopefully Neal and Perry will be able to step up.

Julius Peppers needs to be a situational pass rusher only. When he is fresh, he is a difference maker, but we can't expect him to stay fresh all season long when playing most the game. Use him right Dom, and he will still be an asset.
