It doesn't matter to me if Hawk breaks the all time tackling record or not. I can live with it either way. How are buckeye's "stats solid" when he doesn't even provide any? He just says some numbers but doesn't know where they came from. He doesn't know if the numbers include the post season games or not.
While I go the the Packers site and give you their numbers for Hawk. And verified them at ESPN, CBS and today FOX. By the way FOX shows that Hawk has 39 post season tackles. link That brings his total to 870 which is still a long way from 1020. I looked fro John's year by year break down at all the reliable sources like NFL reference.com and there are none. The only place I see any tackle info for him is the Packer record book. 870 still doesn't put him in the top 5. And the tackles have only been kept since 1975. So anyone who played prior to that does not count. A dubious record at best.
In the past professional teams keep regular season and post season records separate. Unlike college they don't commingle them as they know some teams and players are in the post season more often than others.
All I am asking is for clarification and proof. I get a reply he thinks it is true but has no source or links to verify. It seems that buckeye's "stats" are not solid at this time.

When I saw your post, I was just trying to pass along to you the info. that I had heard.
I have no clue where to find the numbers or how they have been tabulated through hawks career. I brought up the playoff scenario, only because of the number difference you posted about.
I have quit 2 things on this forum.
#1 posting or talking about any type of stat when it comes to football, because it has been made perfectly clear to me that stats are worthless information.
#2 Supporting any current or past Packer player, because, any positive point of view gets me accused of looking at the world through my Green and Gold glasses and is frowned upon.
So WPR you are right, my numbers are not valid, because I did not supply any numbers.
Or will I supply any numbers.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!
