If Rodgers' return can somehow make the defense perform at least as well as it did in the first half of the season I agree with you. Why the defense fell apart when he got injured is anybody's guess.
IMO we have no chance in hell of making the playoffs even if Rodgers does return if the defense doesn't improve as well. Rodgers can do a lot and with him our offense is certainly one of the best but our defense is playing like a bunch of amateurs right now. Can Aaron Rodgers lead this team to victory in a shootout? Yes he can. Can he lead them to victories in 4 shootouts? I don't know. That would be a tall order even for Superaaron.

No one on D seemed to take notice of what we needed to do, and upped their game as a result. No one. Worst of all, our DC did nothing special to see that his unit responded to compensate for Rodgers' loss.
The only caveat would be the clear message that was sent in this failure, and our players on D responding with a semblance of urgency and responsibility to the team. That is the only positive I can see moving forward, and I hope they respond. We have some very talented players who have just not put it together to secure Wins. Maybe they will if Aaron does indeed return. I would love to see it.
