"The spinal surgeon the Packers trust the most, Los Angeles-based Robert Watkins, has told other surgeons he won't clear players to return to the field when one of the fused discs is C-3 or higher."

That would include Finley, right?

I think the Packers have moved on anyway, and from a football standpoint, I'd rather nobody else had Finley doing good things for them either.

Have they said where Finley's fusion was done?

C3 and C4 vertebrae for Finley

"Nick Collins, a three-time Pro Bowl safety, was released by the Packers in 2012 after he suffered a herniated disc between the C3 and C4 vertebrae and underwent single spinal-fusion surgery."

Sterling Sharpe, who suffered a C1-C2 disk injury late in the 1994 season;
Gary Berry, who suffered a bruised spinal column as a rookie in 2000;
Terrence Murphy, who suffered a bruised spinal cord as a rookie in 2005;
Tony Palmer, who suffered a fractured vertebrae in 2007;
Jeremy Thompson, who suffered a bruised spinal cord in practice in 2009.

Sean Richardson, who suffered a neck injury last year and underwent spinal fusion surgery to fuse the C5 and C6 vertebrae

C-3 is specific point (Location) in the spine. I had to look it up of course, but as you see... Not a good area to be messing with.

People think that getting surgery is the answer - just had a patient come to me yesterday and she spent 10 mins talking about her husband whom had 'close to spinal fusion surgery' for his spine a couple years ago. Well he had a 'relapse' and had severe symptoms again and was carted off to do surgery again; she said how they didnt want to fuse it yet because he is too young (32) and they said they fuse-ing the vertebrae in someone this young would not be a good thing.

While some things in the UK I dont like at least they got a bit more sense to some of their patients - not like the states which the medical field is more governed by $. Before I left for the UK I know someone that was 19 that had spinal fusion due to a disc bulge.

My originally point being - the guy probably shouldnt have had surgery in the first place (dont remember his exact symptoms) - and expecting surgery to fix the cause of the problem is the problem because it does not. The problem isnt a disc bulge pushing on the spinal cord; it is why is it pushing on the spinal cord.

Do you know you can take MRIs of 10 random people without symptoms and it will show 3 with impingements to their spinal cord or nerve roots.

Martha Careful (10h) : Why is it that the Rams rookies can contribute right away but our first and second year guys are too young to contribute in a meaningful way
Martha Careful (10h) : Yes, Saquon Barkley had a very nice game. But he has a much better offensive line in front of him. I'll take Josh Jacob's. I love the guy

Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : S Xavier McKinney named first-team All-Pro by NFLPA
beast (8-Jan) : I missed it, sorry, but he got into the NFL Hall of Fame years before that
Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : Jones took his sweet ole time!
Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : Yeah, he's in the ring of honor, just saw video and his name is up there
Zero2Cool (8-Jan) : Didn't they have a thing in 2023 for Jimmy's ring of honor? I swear I saw it
beast (8-Jan) : Though if they're legitimately trying to re-sign MM, then it makes sense.
beast (8-Jan) : Jerry Jones still hasn't put Jimmy Johnson in the Ring of Honor, but he's in the NFL's Hall of Fame, Jones is petty
Mucky Tundra (8-Jan) : Unless the Cowboys are planning an extension, seems kinda petty
beast (8-Jan) : Cowboys denied Bears request
Mucky Tundra (6-Jan) : From what I'm reading, MM is under contract through the 14th of January; after that he's free game
Zero2Cool (6-Jan) : McCarthy let go or not extended??
