Early Season Grades for the Green Bay Packers Defense

Yesterday, we handed out our early season grades for the Green Bay Packers offense.

Today, we take a look at how the Packers defense has performed over the first three weeks of the 2013 season.

Again, we’re evaluating the team based on a small three-game sample size, so we realize plenty of things can still change for the Packers this season. Let’s hope some of their early struggles on defense get fixed going forward. Hopefully, after they get some key players back from injury, such as Morgan Burnett and Casey Hayward, the Packers defense will play a little more consistently.

Having said that, here are our early season grades for the Packers defense.

I don't think it is too soon, given that it is labeled "early .....".

I liked the assessment of the offense, but this one of the defense, not so much.

I really wouldn't rate the big fatties in the D Line nearly that high. Other than some quality from Jolly and Daniels, they have been basically big fat nothings. And while B- may be accurate for the LBs because of Matthews, other than him they should be about a D. Perry has been a disappointment, and Hawk and B. Jones have been expectedly mediocre. As for the Corners, I thought other than Hyde, they have been decent - higher than the C grade they got.
