The most traditional way NFL teams (besides the Green Bay Packers) sells season tickets is for all eight regular season games and two preseason games.  Our beloved Packers do their season tickets differently. Currently Packers season ticket holders are split into two separate packages. There is a Gold Package and a Green Package.

I propose the new season ticket holders pay a ONE TIME $600 per seat PSL plus ticket ($48,000,000 new money for Packers) and now all of a sudden the waiting has disappeared, everyone gets a game, or just about. That would give the Packers 240,000 season tickets holders (three season ticket packages , Green, Gold and New Package), times the 80,000 seating capacity per game.

I think it should go to the "Gold Package" ticket holders. :-"

actually it is an interesting idea he has. It won't happen. Many of the people on the list won't want "JUST" 1 game. and it will be a very long time before more games are added to the schedule even in the NFL wants them.

If anything they'll add them to the Milwaukee package.

Said this before, and I'll say it again, it's poor business practice to have as long a waiting list as the Packers have.

Okay, I understand wanting to have a small waiting list, ten thousand or maybe twenty. But what is the list now? 50K, 80K?

That's a ridiculous price for insurance against "lean years". I'd raise ticket prices by $25/year until that backlog was cut by 50 or 75%.

$25 x 70,000 x 8 = $14 million a year. That's enough money to hire one or two starter-quality OL via creative salary-cap-manipulating bonuses.

EVERY YEAR.

A pretty big price to pay just so current ticketholders can scalp half their tickets and pay for next year's tickets.

If I were Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy I'd be quietly lobbying for bigger price increases every year.

A large portion of those on the list were placed there by their parents or grandparents with the understanding it would be decades before they get their name called. To which it gives them ample time to save up money to purchase the tickets when said name comes up.

Removing the waiting list would be like putting a dome on the stadium. It takes away the 'charm'. Hey, I don't wanna wait 364 days for Christmas to get presents, lets shorten that up!!

You have to watch for diminishing returns. Slippery slope and considering how profitable the Packers are (also sold out X amount of years while having one of the most capacity stadiums in the NFL), I think your accusation of poor business practice doesn't need any further words.

A quick check on Stubhub shows the most tickets available are 4123 for the Falcon game. Granted it is getting late and many tickets have already been sold but I seriously doubt 10,000 seats were for sell. That would be no where near half of the ticketholders.

Any season ticket holder that scalps his tickets for profit should have those tickets removed. But then again, I believe tax evaders should be deported.

The real answer is to sell less season tickets and let more people throughout the country have a shot at going to football's Mecca.

I have never sold any of the tickets to the games I could not make. I have given them away. Almost always to friends or family but not always.

dfosterf (2-Jan) : Hats off to the Beast
dfosterf (2-Jan) : I'm at 71.76% in pick 'em. 2nd place. Beast is at a flat 75% 9 games ahead. That 75% has got to be unprecedented this late in the season

Mucky Tundra (2-Jan) : outside of Texas-Arizona St, it's been a snoozefest
beast (2-Jan) : I expect Georgia will change that tomorrow, but we'll have to wait and see. If they do, then only Big 10 and SEC are left.

beast (31-Dec) : I want to them chant some songs for Daniel Whelan

Zero2Cool (31-Dec) : Packers. Steelers. Ireland. 2025. Reports say.
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Matt Lafleur on if Jaire will play again this season. "Yeah I don't know... he's been dealing with swelling."
Mucky Tundra (30-Dec) : After the way they played for most of the game yesterday, I don't see how you can sit anyone for the whole game
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : I'd say play everyone. Going into playoffs at 7th seed on two game lose streak - yucky
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Do the Packers have any best players?
beast (30-Dec) : Play or Rest*
beast (30-Dec) : Should the Packers play or free their best players vs the Bears?
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Packers should be 3 - 2 in the Division. Bonkers being swept by both Lions and Vikings. yikes
go.pack.go. (30-Dec) : All crazy stuff…and good point beast
beast (30-Dec) : Packers should be 0-5 in the division, can't say I saw that coming, even 1-4
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Sam Darnold 35 TD's ... another one
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : Baker Mayfield, 39 TD's ... can't say I saw that one
Zero2Cool (30-Dec) : No matter who is playing as 7th, I think we want them to win. Get rid of 2nd seed haha
go.pack.go. (30-Dec) : That would be dhazer who was rooting for Minnesota
beast (30-Dec) : Well, Commanders are currently the 6th seed and Packers the 7th
beast (30-Dec) : Who was it in Chat, that wanted the Vikings to win (because Lions fans upset them) because Packers could not lose the 6th seed?
beast (30-Dec) : If Falcons win, Packers stay as the 6th seed and Falcons lead the NFCS, if they lose, Commanders 6th and Bucs take NFCS lead
beast (30-Dec) : Win or Loss, the NFCS is going down to week 18
Mucky Tundra (30-Dec) : if the Falcons win, how does that affect the overall NFC playoff picture? Does it mean that the NFC South comes down to week 18?
beast (30-Dec) : If Commanders win, the Packers drop to the 7th seed
beast (29-Dec) : Taylor still at it!
beast (29-Dec) : Colts get the ball and fumble turn over
packerfanoutwest (29-Dec) : Jets pull Aaron Rodgers for Tyrod Taylor
