For all the players who made it easier Friday for Packers GM Ted Thompson to trim his roster to 53 — and there were plenty in a 17-10 preseason loss to Seattle — there was a group of nine or 10 who may make this the toughest Labor Day weekend he’s faced in his nine-year tenure.

Great article. I'm finding myself wanting to keep too many players on defense in my mock 53 because of depth at DL, ILB, CB and potential at OLB, S.

Thats 27 on D add 3 Special teams, that only leaves 23 on Offense.

4-RB's
4-TE's
8-O-line
5-Wr's

I guess it's workable, if it goes that way, probably the PS will be heavy with guys that play offense.

I think it would work to begin the season.
