And I use the news feature at times.. just in this case, I didn't want the context that feature would have pulled back.. I only wanted to focus on this segment of the post.

Why?

Because it is the type of attitude this defense needs.. a couple of ass kickers in place of a couple wannabee pretty boys showing up in commercials for their hair or riding off the glory boy's gig.

As for Sam. He's not a QB so not worth the keystrokes! 😛

Story of every training camp under this group.. guys out of the late rounds and UDFA's get their fair shot at a roster spot.. and at times playing a role on Sunday in securing wins. Or losses.

I love a LBer who can bring a little thunder. I have to enjoy it while I can. It won't be long before the NFL in their fear of litigation creates a rule to remove any hits from the game.

Sure the guy is raw, but he has certainly flashed enough already to warrant a roster spot. He has a chance to develop into a great player. This year will be full of growing pains, but I expect that of most rookies.

speaking of coverage linebackers ... what happened to our best one that we've had in awhile ... Brandon chillar? ... he could at least cover WR and TEs decently - is brad jones really that much better then him?

And yes, I do believe Jones is better. Much smoother.

As for Barrington, maybe he'll prove me wrong. He definitely brings 'tude to the defense, which is much needed. And after all, if we can get to the QB, he won't have to cover for major distances. None of the guys will.

One year and three special-teams tackles later, he hasn't flinched.

"I'm not going to back off that statement," Manning said. "I definitely feel that I can be the best linebacker in the draft."

Better than Luke Kuechly, better than Dont'a Hightower, better than Zach Brown.

Manning. If he can cover, he might have a chance at this.
