At wide receiver, Ted Thompson rarely misses. That's what made the general manager's choices of Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey in the seventh round of last April's draft so intriguing.
So far in training camp, however, the Packers have practically no idea what they have in either player.
Johnson and Dorsey have hardly played through organized team activities, minicamp and training camp due to injuries. Now, one is dealing with a IT band strain (Johnson) and the other a hamstring injury (Dorsey). At wide receiver -- behind the Packers' top three -- Jarrett Boykin and Jeremy Ross have separated themselves so far. The two draft picks have been confined to the classroom.
As the Packers head into their annual intrasquad scrimmage tonight, Johnson and Dorsey are currently on the outside looking in for now.
