My gut tells me that Rodgers will stick by Braun. He strikes me as one who sticks by friends.

I could be wrong, of course, since I don't know either of them, or how "deep" their friendship was -- a lot of "friendships" claimed by prominent people tend to be fairly superficial -- but who knows if this is one of those.

Also, why is it not possible that when Rodgers claimed Braun was innocent, Braun *was* innocent. I didn't read eighteen articles on this, but did anyone say the suspension was for activity prior to Rodgers statement?

IMO Florio is a troll who works for trolls. I really could care less about what he says, anymore.

I don't think they would cut him. I am pretty sure most of his money is guaranteed. There is no way they will get value in a trade. They will keep him and watch his production drop due to not being able to cheat.

edit - yep here  is a story that confirms it.

I can't boo a Brewer, but when he comes to bat, we as fans, can give him the silent treatment and not cheer him on.

After Ryan Braun absorbed a suspension for the balance of the baseball season and seemed to admit that he cheated the game, some (including us) that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers may have some explaining to do. Rodgers also may have some paying to do. At one point during his defense of his friend and business...

The only thing that bothers me yet is that it hasn't been exposed exactly what he is guilty of... IE.. give us the proof to formulate our own opinions on what really transpired here.

Based simply on the events.. it absolutely appears that Braun has been nothing more than a fraud.. but it may just be me, but I want the details of the events.. how far back does the evidence trail go. Whom knew what and when.

I hated the fact that the NFL buried the Spygate information.. and I will be equally disappointed if the facts here are not released. Transparency from the sports is needed more in these cases..

That test came back positive and he was suspended in the winter of 2012 b/f spring training. That was overturned b/c the sample was not 'handled correctly".

which also adds to my disgust in Braun. If you remember, he then attacked the integrity of the guy who handled the sample to protect his lies.

It would not hurt my feelings if everyone who was caught had 0-0-0 behind their name for their whole baseball career. The problem becomes a bigger issue. What about the guys in the 70- 80's who took speed. Did that help them? I am sure it did. The 162 game season is such a grind. If they felt "up" in Aug and Sept while others were dragging their butts it is easy to say they had illegal help getting their hits or their strikeouts.

pack93, I guess it doesn't matter what the details are. Braun is not contesting them so he is basically admitting he is guilty.

I see no reason that MLB doesn't release their findings in this.. let the facts present themselves. Asked for no less from day one.. and MLB has said that is what they were doing with this investigation. Well then.. present them so we the direct and indirect fund source of the game to know the facts.

In such a public game in which we openly talk about their contracts, events in the ball players lives.. then why not show us the ugly side of the game. How the cheats cheated... or what exactly what they are guilty of.

Could it also prove not to be as damning to Braun.. possibly but doubtful. But the next time I see him play ball in Miller Park.. I certainly want to know the facts of his guilt.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress

Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
