Thompson is an idiot for putting all of his eggs in one basket... and I'm not talking about Brett, but in having no two straight out of college rookies to backup (injury prone) Rodgers. I hate to say I told you so, but... I did.

First point, I agree. We should have found a veteran to back up Rodgers. I don't know who, but any veteran would have been nice.

Second, injury prone? How the hell can someone be injury prone when he hasn't even had the opportunity to start half a season yet? That is such a weak statement that has no ground to stand on. You told us so? If that's the best you have, keep talking cuz we all like seeing silliness and we could use a good laugh after these last two (and I use this term loosely) games.

pfft, injury prone ... wow ... half the damn league would be injury prone under this guys synopsis.

Yeah, I'll keep talking... because I'm right. The problem with Rodgers isn't that he doesn't have the talent to throw the ball, but rather doesn't have the tallent in avoiding the sack. And when he does go down he doesn't know avoid injury. How many time this year did you see the pocket collapse around him and he gets taken down akwardly? I've seen it all year. The guy only sees half the field and has no pocket awareness. It's only a matter of time before he's taken down hard. He's been lucky so far. Favre has the uncanny ability to avoid getting crushed by falling backwards, away from the defender (while in mid throw) and usually does so while protecting his throwing hand. Ever watch the guy when he goes down? Rodgers aint got it... and yesTed Thompsonis an idiot.

You are wrong.
He had a broken bone in his foot in which he played an entire second half with.
His hamstring injury would not have prevented him from starting the next weeks game IF he were the starter. He was not, so instead of risking further injury the IR'd or benched him I can't recall exactly and signed a veteran, Craig Nall.

Nice try, but you fail.

Ok, so I got his injury wrong. True, it was a broken foot. but then you concede that he did have two serious injuries before even starting a game, which is my point. You said I had no basis whatsoever to say Rodgers was injury prone - weak with no ground to stand on. Three injuries already into week 4 of his NFL starting career is my basis. Ted Thompson and MM gambled on Rodger's staying healthy. Not a lot of NFL team start the year with 3 QBs with no start time. Granted Rodgers had 3 years on the bench with some playing time... and probably was ready to start. However, to assume that Flynn and/or Brohm would be ready was just retarded. The Packers had opportunities to pick up a veteran QB; there were plenty available.

I'm just not onboard with how the Packers traded away Favre. Sorry, but it's my opinion that it was the wrong decision for a number of reasons. My feeling is... 10 years from now people will look back on the Ted Thompson era much like the Dan Devine era.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
