Packers homer articles written in the Minneapolis Star Tribune... doubt it.

Or maybe you are reading homer articles thus giving you said image of him?

My thing is I prefer honesty. I don't believe anybody is squeaky clean in their opinions. Everybody has their own thoughts and the more honest they are the more I trust him.

I feel like Packer fans are acting like the spoiled brat when it comes to this jennings thing or maybe they are insecure that the vikings are not too far behind them in talent now. The vikings beat us WITH ponder and WITHOUT jennings. So thinking about that and then seeing these fans be so defensive about jennings talking makes me put two and two together.

If we are comfortable knowing we are better, then why does it matter what he says. Let him talk and know in your heart that come game day, we will whoop there ass!

I agree with Vic on packers.com. Don't worry about the Jennings talk. Let Sunday speak for itself.

Brett Favre used to do that to some extent, too, and it was annoying. As has been said, the media will ask any and all questions, especially if a player/politician, etc. keeps answering them. However, if providing your opinion absolutely leads to no positive, and only negatives, what the hell is the point of doing so? I would say the exact same thing about any Packers player, or any politician, relative, or friend if they were doing the same things. For example, what benefit did Aaron Rodgers support of Ryan Braun bring? Sure, Rodgers felt that he was just being honest. So, in your opinion, I suppose you think that was a good thing. But in the long run, Rodgers just end up putting his foot in his mouth, and now has issues about betting his paycheck, speaking out strongly against the apparent truth, etc. Again, nothing positive, and only a pain in the ass for not only him, but his fans. That's just one example of an endless list in the NFL and beyond.

I understand occasionally a player will screw up and speak their mind. But to do it repeatedly just reeks of stupidly, bitterness, or just loving the attention. This has absolutely nothing to do with which team is better, necessarily. Even if the Vikings were obviously much better, nothing I said would change. Those two things aren't connected. In fact, it doesn't even really have anything to do with the games on Sunday, it's just personal gossip opinions that won't influence anything on Sundays, which is why they shouldn't be said in the first place. Feeding the media stories is just like feeding a fire gasoline or more wood; the more you feed it, the bigger it (the story, in this case) gets. If it's ignored, it eventually chokes out, and is non-existent. Obviously Jennings either doesn't get this, or wants to keep talking about his old team because he's butt hurt or loves the attention. In fact, if I was a head coach, I would insist that my players stop commenting about other players teams to the public. At best, it's unprofessional, and at worst, makes a player look like a petulant child.

Your logic is completely backwards, imo, and it seems you miss the underlying points, just as Jennings is, and just like Aaron Rodgers did with the Ryan Braun situation. It's just silly and pointless.

Greg Jennings could learn something from Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers was asked about recent comments ex-Packers receiver Greg Jennings made about him. Jennings said that Rodgers was rarely criticized and needed to take more of the blame when it was warranted.

You know what, to me, I'm concerned about the opinions of the guys in this locker room and the guys we have here. We have 90 guys right now and it's exciting to be one of the leaders of this team and I'm very confident in my style. I think the guys respond well to it.

It's fun being the longest-tenured guy on the team and I've seen a lot and been around a lot and learned a lot of lessons. One of the lessons you learn is you can't control everything and you shouldn't worry too much about the things that are said outside the building. You worry about the opinions of your teammates and how they feel about you.

Personally, I find Rodgers "he lied to me" a worse offense against propriety than anything Jennings has said. [see other thread]

But I'm weird.

So be mad that he went on the show to begin with not that he answered the questions he was asked honestly.

I am not a huge Jennings fan and I have NEVER enjoyed his interviews even when he was with the Packers, but I ain't going to get on his jock for him playing along with the media once he agreed. Imagine him just sitting there going to the first take desk and just feeding us a bunch of status quo... YAWN. That is not what makes good media... It makes for good documentaries.

If you people don't like it turn off ESPN and watch A Football Life instead.

Long winded.. But Rodgers basically says "next question".

I'm still not buying into your argument in the slightest. As Rodgers said, be concerned about the people inside your respective building. Commenting in detail on other teams, especially in a negative light, is in poor taste, unprofessional, and doesn't achieve anything positive most of the time. Players usually do it because they are bitter about something, have a vendetta, or just love attention. That seems to be the case with Jennings currently.

Okay if this is about taking sides then I understand backing our guy over theirs.

I put this under the title of "busting someone's chops" and it is a thing guys do a lot, I am around it quite a lot around my friends, and I have zero problem with it.

That's just me.

Mucky Tundra (8h) : if the Eagles get it down to the 1, do they Tush Push or give it to Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (8h) : 49ers have a money problem if they want to sign their QB
Mucky Tundra (8h) : Wait for real? Didn't he just get an extension two years ago?

TheKanataThrilla (8h) : Replays always never seem to show the holdings

packerfanoutwest (9h) : wtf Barkley?
TheKanataThrilla (9h) : Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round in 2023 was pretty darn good
Mucky Tundra (9h) : for some reason i'm thinking of a draft where the Eagles where in the mid 20s and a top player fell all the way to them

Mucky Tundra (9h) : i'm not sure who i'm thinking of now
Mucky Tundra (9h) : oh fuck me i messed that up
Zero2Cool (9h) : Jordan Davis was 13th overall
Zero2Cool (9h) : Carter was 9th overall
Zero2Cool (9h) : Eagles had 15th and 10th selections, moved to 13 and 9 to get Davis and Carter back to back
Zero2Cool (9h) : Eagles traded up for Carter, didn't they?
Mucky Tundra (9h) : Obviously he was a huge risk but getting a top 5 talent on the dline in the mid 20s is fortuitous
Mucky Tundra (9h) : Jalen Carter falling into their lap certainly helps
TheKanataThrilla (9h) : And we could only wish to have this type of D
TheKanataThrilla (9h) : It's not like Philly has had low draft picks, but has managed to get themselves a top notch pass rush. We spend so much draft capital of D
packerfanoutwest (9h) : another crap halftime show
TheKanataThrilla (9h) : I think it is over, but then I think of Atlanta and want Philly to go in with the same intensity in the second half
Mucky Tundra (9h) : And with a Pass Rush that might as well be on a milk cartoon and no Jaire
Martha Careful (9h) : I cant help but feel good about how well the Packers D played in Philly during the playoffs
Mucky Tundra (10h) : this game is over
Mucky Tundra (10h) : This might be the kill shot here
Mucky Tundra (10h) : oh that's such a bad penalty for KC after getting the 3rd down stop
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : Philly DL has come to play
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : Ceoper DeJean with the INT scored...bad memories of draft night
Mucky Tundra (10h) : ok scratch that
Mucky Tundra (10h) : Game feels like last years Super Bowl: 49ers started off in control, moved the ball well but didn't have much of a lead to show for it
TheKanataThrilla (10h) : KC jumped and they call it on Eagles. WTF refs
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : If he was offside why did you let him pop the QB?
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : I like that Eagles are controlling time of possession so far.
Mucky Tundra (11h) : If the Eagles are going to win, this is how they do it: jump all over the Chiefs and don't let it turn into a close one
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : Bad throw created that penalty.
TheKanataThrilla (11h) : Amazed Philly got that hit to the helmet call.
