I think this has to do with our strength and conditioning program. Injuries like this CAN SOMETIMES be avoided with something as simple as doing a lot of stretching. All these injuries is not a coincidence.

I completely agree !

Our strength and conditioning program is the same as it has been for the past two years where we've barely had any serious injuries.

Simply put, I think Rock said it best when he implied it's been tough for the players to get their rest with the TC having been scheduled the way it was.

We're seeing that translate to injuries.

I wondered what happened to Hawk. The announcers do such a bad job of telling us who is in the lineup. Desmond Bishop came in at one point, but I think it was for Barnett.

I think the reason for the injuries is bad luck. I don't think the odd training camp schedule (three short weeks in a row before preseason games) was much of a factor. So they played the four games in 18 days instead of the usual 20 or 21. Big deal. The starters barely play in the final preseason game anyway. And even if it was a factor, I don't think there would be an effect from this that would linger into the fourth week of the regular season.

Luckily Chillar is there as a back-up.

Good lord, reports indicate that Jenkins couldn't move his right arm, Collins could barely put on his pants.... damn we are the walking wounded.

Doesn't sound good.
Looking more like a MASH unit then a football team.

Merged the two threads about Hawk..

Losses: i can handle them
mistakes: they can be corrected.
starters dropping like flies to injuries: makes me want to punch a baby.

today, I'm not very optimistic.

If Hawk is out for the year, like speculated.. I think it is time to move Barnett outside and insert Bishop into the middle.

A couple of notes on why..

1) Utilize Barnett's speed more effectively outside.

2) Nick won't have to fight through blocks in which he seems often to get washed out or down field a couple of yards.

3) Bishop would help stiffen that interior rush defense and Barnett would be able to help close the sidelines with his speed.

4) Bishop is too talented to keep off the field over Chillar or Poppinga.

But most of all.. I hope Hawk's injury isn't as severe as first thought.. dude has played well.

Yes those Brewers certainly did.. I let out a yelp someplace about a second after Braun hit that homer yesterday that probably sent a couple older folks in the little village to check their hearing aids and turn them down.. 25 plus years I have waited for this again.. and to see Yount's smile in the dugout was worth every single heartache this season..

What a player CC is.. my gosh, even if we only rented him for half a season.. what an absolute joy the big feller is to watch.

On topic.. I friend of mine in Green Bay that seems to scoop news.. says the word this morning on Hawk isn't very good.

You never want to lose any player to injury but if Hawk is out for the year as rumored, that certainly sucks.
How much worse can the injury bug bite us?

Off topic: I think CC could start every other day, what a beast!!!!
