It depends on how well Tramon Williams plays. I think people are underestimating the amount of pressure he’s facing. The Packers have three young prospects at corner, and it’s going to be hard to keep any off the field, if Williams continues to struggle. The Packers don’t like to bench veterans, but if he doesn’t elevate his game, he won’t be on the roster next season. That definitely opens the door for House.

Williams actually played pretty well last year.

He regularly faced teams #1 WR allowed a passer rating of 77, without his arm being 100%. There are not a lot of CBs in the league that can do that healthy.

His injury was pretty severe in 2010. He was basically playing with one arm. There was nerve damage and nerves heal slowly. He is getting better and was greatly improved last year. If he continues to progress, he should be close to normal this year.

Tramon Williams has been up and down. I hope he stays up and stays healthy. If it seems like anyone is getting ushered out, it would be Shields. Seniority may prevail here, but wouldn't it be exciting if one of the new guys like House really lights it up? I think so.

In just thinking about House, I'm kind of shocked at the depth Ted has stacked in our secondary. It is pretty impressive. Who knows how he will fit, but good to have the House we had last preseason back and healthy. He should compete well with some amazing talent around him. Our secondary, with a pass rush, is going to be stellar this season. I'd like to see Davon House be a big part of that.
