As of 2:00 pm PST I have received information from the 3rd and 4th opinion doctors regarding Al Harris internal injury he suffered last Sunday.
Simply put, all opinions and analysis of the spleen trauma have come back with consistent results. There is a laceration of the Spleen which, at this point, will not require surgery. The course of action is rest to promote healing. Al will have additional CT scans taken again in a few weeks. No other time lines have been, nor will be set until after the scans have been evaluated. Therefore, we are in a wait and see mode as to how well Al heals over the next few weeks.
For Now, I want to congratulate Al on his 175th straight appearances as a NFL player. This is one heck of an accomplishment and a testament to your hard work, dedication and your professionalism.
Seemingly impervious to injury, has not missed a game in his career, playing 175 straight contests (160 regular season, 12 in the playoffs), which includes starting all 85 games the Packers have played since his arrival in 2003 (80 regular season, 5 playoffs)
In 160 regular-season games (101 starts), has 19 career interceptions among 131 passes defensed, and 412 tackles (355 solo)
All those associated with Pro Football know what a herculean feat this is for any player.
Stay tuned for more updates on Al in the upcoming weeks.
