PackersHome Member Name: Mucky Tundra
Real Name (first only): Kyle
Age: 28
Hometown: Rockford, IL
Current City: Murray, KY
Occupation: 3rd Factory Labor/Forever Grad Student

1) How did you choose your screen name?
Wanted something to do with the team but it seems like these days players come and go so I didn't want to get stuck with someone will be gone within a year (or they end up a Viking). Thought about Lambeau and the frozen tundra but that's a little too cliche. Then it hit me this team plays well in the rain and mud for whatever reason and I can't remember too many games they've lost in the rainy weather at Lambeau as well as on the road. Originally went with Soggy Tundra but didn't finish the sign up (had a few to drink after work [grin1] ) when I closed out firefox by accident so I went with my current name instead since I couldn't sign in or get the password sent to me.

2) Could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?
Grew up in Rockford, IL with my dad. His side of the family comes from most of the farming areas and towns to the south like Byron and Stillman Valley. Mom's side came from Arkansas.

3) Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any High School clubs and such?
Was on the baseball team (ahem) for three years and ran cross country for two. Did speech team and helped build this robot thingy for a competition my senior year.

4) How did you find the PackersHome? And what keeps you active on the site?
During the Saints game last year (2012), was going bonkers over Capers sitting in zone all game while Brees picked the D apart. After the game I didn't read anybody criticizing this, just the kickoff fumble and NFL ref nonsense. Thought maybe I was crazy but a google search led me here. Lurked on and off for a few months before registering. It's big enough to have a lot of different conversations from different people but not so small that every thread just turns into a circle jerk like I've seen on other small forums. Plus the NFC North group I posted on constantly had discussions getting derailed by fans of all 4 teams remind the other fans that their teams did in fact suck and got lucky constantly otherwise they'd be 0-16 etc etc.

5) What type of hobbies do you enjoy?
Reading, traveling, occasionally playing PS3 or PC games, trying to cook, movies

6) What was your first job?
Announcing baseball games at a Boys and Girls club that my high school baseball coach ran

7) What is your fondest memory of your teenage years?
Going on a class trip to the United Kingdom and Ireland. Sparked my interest to travel abroad and in general travel as much as possible.

8) If you could have one moment being part of the Packer organization, what would it be?
The meeting when it was decided Favre had to go

9) What is your worst fear?
Not getting to see more of the world

10) How many trips/games have you made to Lambeau Field?
Only been there once for a tour sadly. Saw a few pre-season games at Camp Randall back in the mid-90s

11) Whats your favorite food?
Mexican

12) If you could live anywhere where would it be?
Germany. Specifically Regensburg in Bavaria . I've lived there twice for a total of 7 months.

13) Name your favorite 5 Packers all time and explain the reason for one of them.
1. Aaron Rodgers-so accurate, a pure QB so to speak and I like the way he carries himself
2. Brett Favre-for obvious reasons but I still haven't forgiven him yet
3. Edgar Bennett-always played good against the Bears and he was a mudder
4. Donald Driver-almost reliable, played hard and the way he was killing himself vs Atlanta in the 2001 playoff game with the injured shoulder even after the game was over
5. Charles Woodson-did everything on D and was always throwing everything he had into the game to try and win. The half time story when he saw the x-rays tears me up.

14) Where are some of the places youve been, and where are some of your favorites.
In the US: Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, D.C., Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Ohio, Florida and Mississippi. Though some of them were just driven though with no stops.

Abroad: United Kingdom-London+Wales, Ireland-Dublin, Shannon, Netherlands-Amsterdam, Austria-Salzburg+Vienna, Italy-Rome+Venice, Czech Republic-Prague, Germany-Munich, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Heidelberg, Frankfurt-am-Main, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Regensburg

Favorites in the US: Houston, Chicago, Colorado, Milwaukee
Favorites abroad: Berlin, Prague, Salzburg, Rome, Nuremberg

15) When youre not on PackersHome, what are you doing with your free time?
Reading, surfing the net watching too much youtube

16) What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime?
Skydive

17) What other sports teams do you follow and why?
St Louis Cardinals though I haven't followed closely the past few years. I'll also root for the Blackhawks and Bulls if they're on. If I'm in Rockford an Icehogs game is always nice to go to.

18) What lead to your following of the Packers?
Was 8/9 years old in 1993 when my dad was watching a game so I just rooted for his team. Got more and more into it with the 93 season and the playoffs that year. Cemented in 1994 on Halloween. For the sake of simplicity I just wore a Packers t-shirt and giant inflatable helmet instead of my costume for the school party. Other kids let me hear it. One Monday Night Fooball beatdown later and they weren't talking. It was a close shave though; my mom is a Bears fan, dressed me in Bears clothing as a baby and insists that some of my first steps were to the Super Bowl Shuffle. Personally I don't remember any of that and vehemently deny any of it.

19) Can you share one of your favorite memories of the Packers?
The 96 season+Super Bowl XXXI, constantly sweeping the Bears in the 90s and under Sherman (his only high point), following the Thanksgiving game in 2007 online while in Germany at 3 am in the morning and realizing there was life after Favre, the 2003 and 2007 playoff games against Seattle, watching Ahman Green as a runner, getting see Reggie White play in person (even if it was preseason)

20) What is your favorite PackersHome memory and/or feature?
Following the 2013 draft and discussing the picks as they came in

21) PM and post the next person to be interviewed.
Uhhh🤷

thanks mucky. love this name better than "sloppy".
I am down the Rock in Oregon.
my son ran XC. He is about 2-3 years younger than you. Oregon had some pretty good runners back then.
it is great to have another Cardinals fan on here. Zero2Cool gets a little paranoid about his weak Brewers when he compares them to a great franchise. I think it is envy.

I enjoy your posts in the other sections as well.

Thanks wpr and Pack93z for the warm welcome

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : Turnovers rule, win the turnover battle, win the game.
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : well, he was
TheKanataThrilla (26-Jan) : Eagles down by contact on the fumble....fuck you NFL

Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
