The Packers just calculated - correctly as it turns out - that other teams wouldn't see him as having much value. Whenever you have a development project like EDS, the team doing the developing likely will see him as more valuable than outsiders. Besides, nowadays, most centers are converts from other O Line positions, similar to EDS, and teams can just use what they already have.
