At a time when quarterback Brett Favre hopes to get back in the good graces of Green Bay, it probably makes sense to temper talk of how he really had wanted to play for a different team. On Friday, before an SMU Athletic Forum luncheon in Dallas, Favre admitted that he always wanted to play

It's understandable why. Boy from the south, watched the 70s Cowboys, they were the big things. I wonder what context he said that in. Because if he was saying he always loved the Cowboys as a kid and had dreams of playing for them, that's one thing. If it's more him sounding like he wishes he was never on the Packers and spent his career with the Cowboys, well...

He's ruining his chances of still feeling important and loved by a fanbase. If he even wants that anymore.

I say this in the nicest possible way: Brett was never the sharpest knife in the drawer. I doubt he meant anything negative to Packer fans. He'll just have to live out his fantasies now watching Tony Romo hahaha.

I don't think it's a really big deal since he grew up in Louisiana but it's odd timing coming on the heels of him wanting to come back to GB.

Green Bay’s Super Bowl run came when the Packers managed to avoid Dallas, thanks to the Panthers.

Always got the impression Dallas lost that game to the Panthers because they never wanted any part of GB in Lambeau in the playoffs.

not even news worthy. It doesn't matter that he wished he could play for the cowgirls. If you checked with most NFL players they all most all had a favorite team they wanted to play for when they were young and it wasn't the team they spent most of their career with.
