I'm sorry, but I would rather have DE Chris Canty lined up next to Raji and/or Pickett working in a sound rotation at NT. That seems like a vast improvement over 2011 and 2012. Pick needs to be moved back to NT. Canty would allow such a move to keep both players fresh and more effective.

We need not just one DE added to this team, but two. Add one in FA and draft another. Maybe Canty fits the bill.

Figure, they have a lot to address with the possible release of players or restructuring, not to mention the number of positions they need to upgrade. DE, DT, NT, LB, S. This may take some time. I'm encouraged just by Ted bringing him in. The need is real and he knows it.

I have no doubt they threw numbers his way. The Packers put a value on a player, and they don't surpass it. Canty will look around to see if he can get more money or maybe he feels he can win championships in Green Bay. Regardless, I'd be surprise of there wasn't a number thrown around between both sides.

Don’t dismiss Canty as a player, either. He had health concerns last year, but he creates more possibilities for the Packers. I think the team needs to limit Pickett’s snap count, but not in the base defense. I don’t like seeing him line up in sub packages. The Packers have injury problems and it forces them to use Pickett in sub packages, because Worthy is hurt or Mike Neal is just recovering from something. In the base, Canty is a better option than C.J. Wilson is, but he’s a better option in sub packages too. It’s kind of the forgotten equation here. A rotation of Canty/Neal/Raji/Daniels would be ideal in the 2-4-5, which Green Bay runs more than the base.
