Why would you trust someone who has fielded some embarrassing defenses (record setting, even) multiple times against elite teams and/or in critical moments. Capers defense dominates bottom tier teams, but really struggles against the top teams. Obviously that would be expected to some extent, but they have to be better in the playoffs. He could use more talent and health, sure, but they still have to do a better job in the playoffs.

Get an impact MLB in there to go with Bishop and I'm sure Perry is going to develope fine. But please people, enough with this idiotic 4-3 business lol

I'd like to see Capers return and add a couple of big DEs like Gohlsten and Hunt.

To develope and to strenghten the D both Bishop and Perry need to be on the filed, not rehabbing from an injury.

I haven't heard much about Bishops rehab, but tearing the muscle completely from the bone is a pretty bad injury, hopefully he comes back 100%, but there has to be doubt, even in his mind.

He is bigger, taller, faster, younger and now has less questions on health. Jones and Smith combined for the season matched Bishops production. At this time, I don't see an Impact MLB to be had in either the draft or FA. I think we would be best off, keeping Hawk(restructure) and keeping Jones. While Hawk isn't what some would like, he is the best against the run, taking on lead blockers, and sacrificing himself on blitzes to free others. He should be on the field when there is a run threat.

Nobody's getting fired, The last 4 yrs The Packers have gone 46-17(should be 47-16) in the regular season, 5-3 in the post season, with a Super Bowl vitory.

Do you realize most teams run on 5 year plans, hoping to build a championship team, only to have to blow it all up because of the salary cap.

The Packers have had an amazing run since 1992, having only 2 losing season, those being the year Ted took over and blew up the roster to get back in line with the salary cap, and the 2008 season.

I wish The Packers could go 16-0 every year and win the SuperBowl every year, but unless you are playing Madden, that's just not going to happen.

Philadelphia is going to find out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

Chip Kelly may be a great college coach, but as we have already read, teams are already disecting the "pistol" offense, and by next year the good DC's(Dom included) will have an answer.

This day and age, it's not the most talented team that wins it all, it's the team that gets the hottest in the playoffs. That team was The Packers in 2010, hopefully it will be them again this year.

Who here thinks The Ravens had the most talent in The NFL this year?

The way I look at it is there are 2 ways a GM can do things, go all out in FA, putting your team in cap hell, hoping you catch a little 1 year magic, or a GM can draft and develope.

I'll take the draft and develope method, Ted has done a pretty good job bringing in the players, and the coaches(all of them), have done a pretty good job getting those players ready to play.

The Injuries The Packers incurred last season would have sent most NFL teams right to the bottom of the barrel.

Does anyone realize The Packers at times had 6 rookies on the field on defense at the same time?

Even though it was great to see some of them excell, sooner or later rookies will make mistakes.

On the positive side, the experience they received will only make The Packers better in 2013.

Same with the O-line, as soon as the injuries hit and players had to start shuffling positions, added to the fact that Saturday just wasn't very good, that's when things started to get out of hand.

Nobody's getting fired, some may leave for another job, so if you want the O-line coach to go, maybe you can call up a team that needs one and offer his services!!! 😄

We did nothing to improve our defense last year except for Nick Perry, Casey Hayward, and Jerel Worthy. In which 2 ended up on IR. The rest of the guys were undersized and do not fit in our scheme. You had Jeron Mcmillian covering TEs for god sakes.. We were out matched in almost any game.

When Woodson, Matthews and Shields were hurt our defense went to shit. We had no depth at LB except for Brad Jones who didn't play a down at MLB.. Pickett, Hawk, and CJ Wilson are slow as can be that can't get after the passer.

If you want Capers risk taking defense to improve you need sideline to sideline athletes. He blitzes so much you need everyone on the defense to play fast and cover every inch of the field so the QB has no one to throw to. We've said it from the start that the 3-4 is a hard transition to make. It is a tricky scheme to play.

Get a pass rushing DE, Get a great sized Saftey with speed, cover MLB, and a backup Edge Rusher and you are a step closer to being a better defense.

Cullen Jenkins and Nick Colins left those voids in our defense after they departed this team. We all know our team has aged and gotten slow. It's time to restructure this defense and get back to its 09' and 10' glory.

All they need to do is get a new safety, replace Hawk and Pickett, start Mike Neal over CJ Wilson and this defense will be a hell of a lot better IMO.

Good post above, staying healthy would most likely do more for our D than any player. We need some good karma.

Zero2Cool (43m) : Merry Christmas!
beast (9h) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (17h) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (22h) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (23h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
