Even though Brett Favres first game with the New York Jets drew a big audience in the Milwaukee market, the final national rating for the game showed there was no wide interest in Favres game, despite much media fanfare going into it.

Even though the preliminary rating was up for the Jets game at Miami, the final rating for the regional game (9.4) was the same as it was for CBS package of games in the early window last season. The network did get some unexpected competition from the NASCAR race in Richmond, which was bumped from Saturday night into Sunday afternoon on ESPN.

And it wasnt as if the Jets-Dolphins game was a blowout. It was settled on the last play.

Jets-Dolphins went to 63% of the nation, the same percentage that is to get the New England Patriots at Jets on Sunday. Milwaukee is among the markets getting Patriots-Jets.

This surprises me. I assumed this would have been the most watched game in the history of season openers.

I know I watched every second of it.

Fail. Only on that game though. The rest he can win. Better pick for us.

Weird. What the hell is wrong with people?

That's proof that the communists are doing something with our drinking water. Told you so.

I think that people who watch football on Sunday afternoons are going to watch it no matter who is playing, for the most part. It's a pretty static audience. It's the night games where a marquee matchup or star player can draw in a lot of extra viewers. Also, the Dolphins are a bad team, which didn't help matters. Nobody goes out of their way to watch the Dolphins these days. I saw a lot of empty seats in the stadium.
