I love Rodgers as our QB. But sometimes, you need to throw the ball, even if the risk of a Pick is higher. Favre, did that to often, Rodgers doesn't do it enough. With the replacement refs, the passing game has reverted back to more resemble the way it was in the 90's, and Rodgers protecting from turnovers is a big reason why our passing game and offense is struggling. DBs are being more physical because they get away with it. So that means tighter coverage.

Combined with the play calling having far to many routes that take to long to develop. It almost seems like defenses are playing the LOS and 15 yards deep. Not even worrying about a receiver in between, unless it is Benson or Kuhn on a check down. They are able to basically double all or receivers with out having to have two defenders for each man.

Having a few more picks, isn't always a terrible thing, when it means the offense is having more production.

He's definitely greedy. By that, I mean he’s looking for the big play. The o-line was bad Monday night, but Rodgers was holding the ball for a few of those hits. Part of it was the play calling. Mike McCarthy has to stop going for the jugular in the first quarter.

Forget about forcing it, though. He can just throw it away if he escapes the pocket. It's almost as if he's struggling to sense pressure. It’s hard to say because Rodgers has been so good for 25 or so games. I think Seattle rattled him a bit.

Playing as well as he did in the second half was very impressive. Not many QBs take a beating like that, bounce back, and play good football for the last 30 minutes. The media is overreacting to Green Bay’s offensive struggles. They’ll find their rhythm.

Sometimes, the ball needs to be forced to a degree. It seems like teams have learned, they don't need to have blanket coverage to stop a throw, they only need to have close coverage. And they are doing that by losely bracketing all our receivers, making it so accurate forced throws would be required.

Definately, better play calling would make it so defenses can't do that as easily, but in absense of better play calls. Sometimes a great QB needs to make those throws and take that risk. Don't have to be jump balls into triple coverage, but a bullet through bracket coverage. When the offense is clicking, and you get a play where the receivers are covered, by all means, throw the ball away. But when they are covered every play, throwing it away 3 times than punting doesn't help.

Script the first 15.
6-9 runs, all between the tackles
the 6-9 passes should be from a formation where running is a threat

After the first 15 ...THEN sprinkle in some shotgun formation... so tired of the shotgun which seems to be every play, even though its not... defenders see shotgun and they pin their ears back an kill the quarterback

Our offensive STAFF needs a solution. He cannot do it alone. Some of these plays are ass. I am seeing guys running routes against coverage that have no chance in hell especially with the pass rush we see. We gotta do the quick strike stuff and wait for something to open up down field. I CANNOT WAIT TO PLAY A 3-4 TEAM!

I disagree. A couple early turnovers in the SEA game could have broken our backs early. Rodgers was throwing plenty of passes into tight coverage that doesn't mean you have to get stupid with it. I also don't think Rodgers necessarily held the ball too long in most cases. The pressure would be immediate but the sack would come after 4 or 5 seconds because he would avoid the initial pressure and someone else would be in his face but the running around makes it seem like he was just holding the ball. If he was standing in a clean pocket for 5 seconds and then getting sacked I would agree but I don't believe that was much the case.

Several of his sacks could have been avoided had he just thrown the ball away. I don't know why he didn't do that.

In the 2nd half, if he didn't have anything, he dumped it off short. I don't know why he didn't do that in the first half.

Or he could have just taken off running. 🇦🇷 used to be the 2nd best scrambling QB in the NFL. I don't know why he didn't take off running either.

This season so far, I am not sure if the replacement refs should be blamed for letting more go or if this offense is sputtering from the loss of Joe Philbin. I am not sure how much Philbin had actually done with our offense but we can't sit here and ignore the fact that no Philbin= lackluster offense, so far.

With that said, there were about 4-5 plays where Rodgers completely ignored that internal clock in his head. It also didn't help that the defense was just able to pin their ears back and rush 4 guys because the Packers just passed it play after play. Alex Green could have quite possibly made a killing this game with screens...

I think at least part of the problem with the passing game is the running game--or lack of even attempting to establish one.

When you go the entire first half, run 30 offensive plays and only 3 of those are run plays (I'm counting AR's scramble in the pass play column) you've abandoned the run before even starting to try and establish it. Don't know whether it's Mike McCarthy playcalling or Aaron Rodgers audible-ing at the line of scrimmage, but going that much one dimensional is asking for the D-line to pin their ears back and go after the QB. And that's just what the Seahawks did, with 8 sacks in the first half.
Mike McCarthy tried to establish a running game in the 2nd half, the play mix was MUCH better, and our offense as a whole performed a lot better.
