If the offense can get it together and the defense can actually hold this form.

The first one, to me, is close to a given. It might not be the offense we had last year, but it's a whole lot better than what we've been showing so far.

The defense, on the other hand, has an eery 2009 feel over it. The year we beat the Cowboys 17 - 7, the Lions 26 - 0, the Browns 31 - 3, but then come out and lay an egg against the Bengals, Vikings, Steelers and, especially, the Cardinals in the play-offs, getting a 50-burger put on us.

But, since this is the positive thread, I guess we'll go with the defense holding up. In that case, we could go far. Very far.

Defensively, the difference between '09 and this year is the level of play of Tramon Williams and Sam Shields. They're playing like its 2010 again. I don’t know what got into Shields, but he’s been outstanding the last two weeks. The decision to bump Shields and Casey Heyward up the depth chart may be the best decision Dom Capers has made in quite some time. You can’t overlook Jeron McMillian, either. He looks as if he’s an upgrade over Charlie Peprah.

The conduct, demeanor and total class of our head coach in the face of that complete farce, especially in light of the NFL dropping trou and pissing on us only to try and call it rain with that absolutely ridiculous non-statement.
