So the demo and reviews are out on Madden 13. I played the demo as the 49ers, trying to get out all my bitterness at the playoff loss to the giants. Here are my thoughts:

1. Presentation: I think this is a major step up from previous years. It will get stale after a season's worth of games but I give them a thumbs up here. The uncanny valley has not been nice to Simms though.

2: Gameplay: Not much difference here to me after 4 games. The infinity engine is supposed to remove the canned animations but I guess I hardly notice the change.

I have to admit, I am surprised at the reviews. They seem quite positive of the improvements of the game. The cynic in me just discounts this to the annual factory line of Madden and COD games but I am trying to keep an open mind on whether to buy or not. I have looked at two review and one area that is still unclear to me is if superstar mode has any improvements. The only mention I see in reviews is its incorporation into an overall career mode.


Anyone else have any thoughts.

I'm debating on buying it. It still feels weird to say, but Madden '12 was the first I didn't own since the Madden series started. Maybe I'll do an every other year thing, lol.

I only want this years version because the Packers should be ranked pretty high!

The Infinity engine alone is why I'm highly highly interested in it.

This will be the first year in I can't remember in how long where I was more excited for Madden than I was for NCAA Football. Lately, NCAA has been sucking it up with gameplay issues (apparently fixed the one year I DON'T buy it). But since playing the demo, I've definitely noticed the Infinity engine (I can't understand how someone HASN'T noticed it) and think it'll bring a far more fresh game (no two tackles are the same).

I'm gonna GameFly it first, but will most likely keep it.

I picked up Madden '13 a week or so ago and played a little bit. Kind of annoyed with the whole progress players and practice stuff. I just want to make roster changes to players and play. I like having the rosters equal NFL rosters and be done with it.

The game play was really nice and feels a little more realistic than the last version I played, Madden '11.

I enjoyed the demo so much that I traded in 6 other games in exchange for Madden '13. Haven't played as a coach yet in Career mode, but have 2 player Career games going (one offline and another online with a buddy) and have an Ultimate Team as well. I am starting to really enjoy the UT mode, it kinda takes me back to my card collecting days.

Anyhow, I haven't played a whole lot yet as I just recently got it, but so far, I'm thinking it was worth the $0..
