Ahhh! All you souls out there that wondered "Where"s MontanaBob?" Well, glad to say I'm alive and well....except my butt and legs could use a rest.
My retired partner in crime, Roger, (the guy who conned me into teaching a University class last year),and I have been on the "Bob and Roger Bicycle Safety Road Show" for the past three weeks. We've seen places like Ogden Utah; Preston, Idaho (think Napolean Dynamite..it was filmed there); Pocatello, Idaho; Idaho Falls, Idaho; Dillon, Montana; and Butte, Montana. I spent 8 days in Dillon, Montana teaching bike and pedestrian safety to the 1-5 grades. We did two day teacher workshops in the other cities. Boy, I'm glad I took 3 pairs of underwear with me, otherwise I'd have had to wash clothes.
My bike odemeter had 1056 miles on it when we started and 1057 when we finished! Actually, it doesn't work worth a shit as I actually put around 900 miles on my bike in that time. Piece of German Junk! Maybe Roger was right....I need to set the tire diameter calibration correctly so it reads the right mileage. Aw, who gives a crap.....I rode a ton of miles.
We're not done yet. Sunday, May 20th, we leave for Roundup, Montana for 2 days. (if you can find that on a map, you are good). Then we hit Lewistown, Montana and Cut Bank Montana and finally by June 10th we are back home to Missoula for.....................two weeks. Then we hit....I don't know where....some places I've never heard of in northern Idaho and Eastern Washington.
I thought I was retired! I gotta look up that definition again and then have my head examined. Except...the pay is good. $250 a day plus expenses. Getting lots of old bills paid off.
Remember: Always wear your bike helmet. It may save your already fried brain. Plus, I get a kickback from Bell!
