Who cares. A rich pampered athlete is kind of a dick?!?! I'm shocked! Hopefully he can turn the speed up on the field - all I care about.

I go 90 in a 65 all the time.

Jeremy Stevens got off of a rape charge for being a football player, Cole deserves to get off for a few speeding tickets.

Bah, this is a small ticket. When I got mine back to back (same freaking weekend by the same cop on the same stretch of highway, consecutive citation numbers too) tickets for going 78 and 77 in a 55 it was a $172.10 ticket. That was an expensive moronic weekend if I ever must say so myself.

Hmmm........so.......you made that cop's weekend!!! Also looks like your a slooooow learner!!! :compress:

hah ... hey i have good reason!

I had a 93 Z24 drop top that had one of those stupid racing chips in it to make it accelerate faster.

On HWY 57 about a mile or two before it drops to 45, I thought the engine missed so I slowed down a bit, then slammed the pedal... before I knew it I was nearing 90 so I let off the gas. I was going to just coast down to 45 and that's about the time the cop caught me.

On my way OUT of town. I saw the 55 MPH sign and was doing 45.... slammed the gas again figuring the cop wouldn't be in the same spot. He wasn't, but he wasn't far away lol... he ended up getting me again. The citation numbers were like 03CT013211998 and 03CT013211999. The look on the judges face was priceless when he noticed it.

He asked me something... probably like what is your problem... I just looked up and said "Sir, that was really irresponsible and ... I screwed up". I'm not sure his response but I know it was not favorable.

Sure wouldn't mind that $350 now though lol

... I was pulled over in Illinois doing 80 in a 65 (being in the middle of a group that had briefly sped up to pass some old lady... I drive the sporty car with the out of state license plate). Traffic laws and their enforcement are bullshit.

"mi_keys" wrote:

Umm. You were ACTUALLY speeding. You got caught. How was that bullshit in any way?

Seems like the penalties for speeding in America are way too lenient. No wonder so many people do it.

Here, going 20 mph over the limit (32 km/hr) is about a $600-800 fine and something like 5 demerit points (out of a max of 12).

I've gotten one speeding ticket, and it was in high school. I was racing a friend home and the state trooper pulled us both over at the same time. Then my driver's ed teacher just so happened to be driving by and decided to pull over with a car load of kids. I was going 77 in a 55 but he knocked it down to 65 in a 55.

Notice how I said, "...and their enforcement." It's bullshit because at any given point most people are going 5 to 10 over depending on the road and don't try to tell me otherwise. I've been going the speed limit and nothing more since getting my last ticket and it's fairly often that I'm quite literally the slowest driver on the road. Yes, I was speeding. But so were 80% of the cars. I was pissed that the cop went out of his way to pick me out (passed a couple other cars going the same speed to go get me... they were minivans probably with small kids going on vacation, I learned the hard way that I'm going to be first). It's also bullshit that my friend was sent home with a warning going 50 over when I got tickets for 9 and 15 over.

Keys.........it's the luck of the draw. Some cops will cut you some slack, some won't.
I go 5 over at the MOST, no matter what the other people are doing. I look at it this way........if you are driving 100 miles to get somewhere, how much faster will you get there by going 10-15 over the speed limit? 10 minutes maybe? Is that worth taking the chance of a big fine and points on your license, which also brings up you insurance costs?
I have been driving for 33 years. Know how many speeding tickets i have got over that time? ZERO. The only times i came close was what i posted earlier when i worked at the Sentinel.
If you don't break the law, you don't really have anything to worry or bitch about.
Just because everyone else is doing it, that doesn't make it right.

If you drive the speed limit, you won't get pulled over. I figured that out about 10 years ago and haven't had a speeding ticket since.

You save a lot more money when you don't speed too. Its a lot less stressful driving around without looking over your shoulder at cops cuz you have no license.
