When I first moved back to Wisconsin, the cable company gave me a box to get HD channels. I had it installed Saturday, I returned it Monday and had them disconnect the cable. The lady wanted to give me two weeks free and I said "what for? I don't like the quality compared to over the air (which is free btw thanks) and I found myself watching little to no TV other than national channels". She smiled said ok and that was pretty much that.

I do however pay $8 a month for Netflix, which comes in handy late at night or on rainy days. Keiana thinks she has to fire it up daily and gets bummed everyday when I say no. She's even getting clever ... "but daddy, i dont want to waste your money" ...

oh & uh you can take those f'in wind farms & shove them where the sun don't shine. they are RUINING the landscape of our countryside around here - just to benefit f'in chitown! thorn in my side to say the least. ruinin our farmland to help out the big cities just ain't right!!

Thats not up to the wind farm its up to the electric company that the wind farm sells it to. Also you seem to forget how much money those wind farms bring to those small towns they are put by. See not to be rude Pack but before you start cutting stuff down maybe you need to do research like all the other protesters that come up with all kinds of reasons not to have them. They ruin the wildlife and thats a big FALSE it actually helps it. They are loud and keep you up which is BS hell I hunt under one and the light swooshing sound puts me to sleep. Oh ya and ruining the landscape, you ever been to Northern California where people go to see the windmills because its beautiful. The main reason people protest them is because they are not getting anything out of it. Are any of the windmills on city or county land? If so then be very thankful because it keeps your taxes down because the landowners actually get between 8 and $10,000 a year just to lease that 1 acre of land per turbine. But then again I guess a nice strip mine would be alot better to have around. After all its so beautiful when they destroy the land and just leave it. Plus heaven forbid that we actually use nature to produce energy without ruining the land.

Ok rant off, sorry just pisses me off when people don't actually look at the facts and go off what they think is right.

puhleez...i know what they do & what they don't do. i wasn't ranting about wildlife or dangers of them - i was merely speaking to the way they are changing the way our countryside looks. the only people it benefits are the ones who agree to have them on their land AND (in the case of our area) chicago! property taxes are not lowered, property values ARE. good, rich, illinois black dirt is compromised.

p.s. i knew it'd tweak yer nips a bit so i was bein a tad on the bitchy side. i love irritating you haze.

edit: strip mining...no. pipelines...yes. going thru many pieces of my property. ruining crop production.
