I have to admit I miss the sex, drugs and rock and roll era with musicians becoming a band with the purpose to become popular and to get laid. I'm tired of bands looking like buskers or who feel like they have to stand for something political. Fuck that. That is why I actually loved when Oasis came out. It was a huge breath of fresh air to see some blokes who were in it for a good time without apologizing for being egotistical bastards. The fact they made some pretty damn catchy tunes didn't hurt.

What part in the movie are you referencing?

Cassidy: Crue!

Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Yeah!

Cassidy: Def Lep!

Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Then that Cobain pussy had to come around & ruin it all.

Cassidy: Like theres something wrong with just wanting to have a good time?

Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: I'll tell you somethin', I hate the fuckin' 90's.

Cassidy: Fuckin' 90's sucked.

Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Fuckin' 90's sucked.

Watch the movie "The Wrestler." The main character explains it better than I do.

And to echo what Dakota said, I don't want to go to a show to see the people I work with on stage. I want to see people who are larger than life.

Nope. The babes are gone because being hot is out. That also ended with Cobain. Luckily, it's not international. Only affected America.

As for what NSD said, it's too true. Anyone ever read Motley Crue's book "The Dirt?" Great book. They had quite the lifestyle. Now, some hip hop stars still have that much fun but rock and rollers? Nope. They're about as fun as accountants nowadays. Heck, they even look like accountants nowadays when an accountant gets off work.

And funny thing about Oasis, Marilyn Manson said the same thing about Oasis. They were a breath of fresh air as they exploited groupie after groupie without apology; the way it's supposed to be done. Note though that they're an overseas band.

Do we even have rock stars any more? (Not including rap/hip hop who I already said are still having fun).

As for flannel, yes, Pack93z is right. It's a cultural thing. If you want to stay warm with flannel, feel free. It doesn't get cold in SoCal though and wearing flannel there is just dumb.

I thought Kurt Cobain was from Washington, not "SoCal"? I believe I have missed something here ...

Still, good memories.

I don't think rock stars exist anymore.

Funny thing about Kurt Cobain is he had the rock star death of "it's better to burnout than fade away" which he used in his suicide letter. Not condoning suicide. Def Leppard who used the line in their song "Rock of Ages" seems to have second thoughts after the death of Steve Clarke.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
