Even as a non-American this one I remember pretty vividly.

For you, 24-hour news cycles are a pretty normal thing. For us, they're not. I remember coming home from school and just seeing that over and over on just about every channel.

That, the Columbia explosion and the assasination of Pim Fortuyn are the ones that really stand out in my mind.

But let's not get this off track even more.

I don't hand you applause points often, Nick, but that one was richly deserved. You and Dave have lived through events I have only read about in books. There is a sobering aspect to that.

Sometimes it's weird for me to think about the fact that things happening in my own life will one day be written down in history books, and future generations of kids will whine and yawn about having to read about such boring trivia, when to have lived through them was riveting, not to say gripping. I am sure our ancestors felt the same.
