Found some free time to look into this a little more. With using
the IRS link to calculate refund, it says I should have 3 allowances if I check Single, but if I check Head of Household I have 10 allowances.
Assuming these recommended allowance(s) are in effect for the rest of 2012, your expected refund should be about $375. Following this recommendation will ensure that the amount withheld from your wages will cover all of your projected tax liability while minimizing your refund.
That would be ideal. Get more out of every paycheck, minimize my refund at the end of the year (err beginning of next year). When landing into a large lump sum of cash, sometimes it's perceived as free money and spent less frugal. I'd rather continue a disciplined approach with more of my money now.
