Last Wednesday a co-worker approached me about a position in Green Bay. He said he told the hiring manager I'd be perfect for the job. It's a regional system project manager position that will oversee project implementations for three plants. Green Bay, WI, Plainwell, MI and Souderton, PA.
I spoke to a high "ranking" manager in Green Bay and she said she is going to do what I ask to help me get the position because she says my plant experience plus corporate experience would make me the perfect solution.
I know it would be a learning curve, but I am confident I could do the job very well. I have an immense desire to learn and improve and that's what this position requires. The only drawback is I don't have the 3+ years experience as a manager in a similar position. I've lead crews at walmart, pdq manufacturing and sales team with dish network. Which gives me customer service as they require as well.
The position requires the following in short.

I applied for the position that night after reviewing what's posted above. I know I don't meet 100% of the qualifications, but I have no doubt if they could just talk to me, I could convince them I'm the guy for the job. I think I'd do very well in this position. This would be a great opportunity for me professionally, although in a different career path.
I'm concerned they won't take me seriously and will just skip over me. Upper management might have a different view of me than those here and also managers in the plant. I want to engage a discussion now, but today and tomorrow are really busy and I'm in Green Bay the next three days. So I won't really get a chance to talk until next Monday.
