Fuck. This thread has gone to hell in a matter of a couple of posts.

Seriously, people. Nesting quotes two levels deep is (kind of) understandable . . . but four or five? Ugh. I've just read the thread. I don't want to read it all over again.

It is just a useful tool. No one is making you read everything that was previously quoted.

You know, if we didn't have this innate tendency to go off topic, nesting quotes would not be needed at all, lol. 😛 Oops, forgot to add ... Just. Saying!

I disabled it again, because it is annoying and exponentially increases the size of the database with each post.

since we're already off topic anyways can we replace nesting quotes with a multiquote button?

ps. from now on im manually nesting quotes just to mess with nsd

Space in the database is not a real big concern at all. If it is, I'll prune old topics rather than ask folks to post less.

I just don't care for reading the same 4 posts in the ensuing post in threads. I know sometimes it nice to have available, but the posts are there earlier in the thread for reference.

BTW, I created this topic and titled it, not Rourke.

Nested quotes are great for discussions that are spittered (pretty sure i made up that word. sup?) across long threads. Makes the conversation easiest to follow. I understand it looks cluttered but honestly when I know whats going on in a thread I completely skip over the quotes (or piles of quotes) and go right to what the user posted. Don't even notice they are there. I know everyone has their pet-peeves but i just don't see it as a huge deal.
