How many of you out there are genuine procrastinators? You know, put off to tomorrow what you should have done today or yesterday.
We have lots of trees surrounding our house and as much as I try to keep them on the trees, they keep shedding their leaves each fall.....right on our roof. Our Pine and fir trees are far removed from the house....bad mistake 38 years ago in my landscaping scheme.
So....I figure that this weekend, just before Thanksgiving, there won't be much snow and the leaves will all be off the trees and I or someone else as stupid as I am (son-in-law) can go up on the roof and blow the gutters out. I keep forgetting that we have snow cover on the ground from the first of November until June.
Wake up yesterday, (Wednesday Nov. 16) to 10 inches of new snow and the temp is hovering at a balmy 5 degrees above zero. What the F? This wasn't in the forecast for yesterday. Ahh...today is supposed to be better. Sunny and about 40 degrees. The snow should melt off the roof fast and I can at least get the back gutter done.
WRONG!!!! Right at this moment another 6 1/2 inches has fallen and its 20 degrees. Not much melting now.
My wife looked at me this morning before she went to work, shook her head, and proclaimed, "Why didn't you clean the gutters out two weeks ago when it was nice? Jeez, married a dumbass."
"Honey pie...two weeks ago the leaves were still on the damn trees and it was 50 degrees out. You know very well that I'd rather wait until it's extremely treacherous up there and I can put my crampons and ice pick to good use."
"Whatever!! And I still married a dumbass.! Good thing we have AFLAC....you and your antics are worth money."
The gutters can wait until next summer.......if they are still up.
