Interesting to see the Patriots in the wildcard position.

Very interesting to see 3 teams in the NFC North in playoff position. I wonder, have all four teams in a division ever made it to the playoffs in the same year? Seems pretty unlikely but you never know.

That would be impossible. There are only 6 playoff slots per conference. Every division winner gets an automatic bid, leaving only 2 wildcards. That means the maximum number of teams from any division is 3. I know the NFC East has done it a few times.

To lock up a playoff slot of any kind it would be after week 14 games. They have a 3 game lead on Chicago, NO and Atlanta and as of right now they hold the head to head tie breaker over all of them.

So to answer your question- 6 weeks.

The Bears have wins over Falcons and Buccaneers giving them the ultimate tiebreaker. They lost no ground during their bye week.

Facing a 3rd divisional game in the playoffs is a possiblity.

The 49'ers have only one Conference loss and the Lions 2.

The Packer have to just keep pace and let the others stumble. Rvrn though the Packers will still be #1 seed next week regardless of the game's outcome.

So the Packers have a 2 game lead on #2 in the division (the Lions) and a 3 game lead on #7 in the conference (Buccaneers)... so locking up a playoff spot is what 5 to 7 games away? ...

Also the 49ers could be the first to lock up a playoff spot... because #2 in their division (the Seahawks) have only won two games... and they're probably gonna try to get the #1 seed in the NFC with 5 of their last 9 games against their weak division (other games they got are Redskins, Giants, Ravens and Steelers)

dfosterf (25-Jul) : It's my one day deal complaint dept. on shareholder meeting day
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Resulting in an actual drop of net revenue of 12.5%. She is from Minnesota. Just sayin'

Zero2Cool (25-Jul) : Concussion is worse. Banks probably vet off day via back booboo claim
