I haven't heard anything. But geez, WHEN will these guys learn to LAY DOWN when you get an INT in the endzone???? It would be different if it was a close game and you needed a score. But up THREE TD's and you try to run it out? STU-PID!
Usually the guy gets out to the 3 yard line, then get's pounded. Shield's didn't even get that far.

Hope we don't lose him for any amount of time. REAL thin in that area.

We saw what happened when Jarrett Bush replaced Shields--a long completion down the sidelines against Bush. There will be more of those if Shields can't play. Deep coverage is not really Woodson's thing anymore either.

Here are my positives and negatives for this game:

Positives:

Another great game for Aaron Rodgers, especially the TD throw to Jones while rolling to his left. He makes it look so easy.

A nice game for A.J. Hawk, including a sack.

Clay Matthews finally came up with his second sack of the season. He deserved it. He's been working his tail off and making an impact in every game.

A 67-yard punt by Tim Masthay. Good to see him hit one of those in the regular season.

Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson toasted our old friend Al Harris for a 93-yard TD. Harris bit on Aaron's pump fake, and after catching the ball Jordy made a move that caused the safety to miss him and wipe out Harris, leading to an easy TD.

I like the way the Packers methodically destroy teams. I get the sense that they are still saving their best for when they need it.

Negatives:

Dropped passes by Driver, Nelson, and Jennings, the last one causing an interception. The receivers had been so good in that area up till this game.

The running game did very little in the second half, which had a lot to do with the offense's failure to score points.

Sam Shields turned a good play into a dumb play, trying to run an interception out of the end zone when he had no chance to get anywhere with it, and getting himself injured in the process.

Overall, it was a solid game. Next week they go to Minnesota!

I am glad to see this game ended with a win. I am however concerned with the drops we have seen recently. I also was disappointed that the 2nd half seemed very conservative, almost as if they were overconfident in their lead. This did not look like the team that we have been watching. I worry that sometime this team will give up a big fat loss by playing a good first half then flush their lead by playing too conservatively. Recently I commented on the aggressive game plan and how I loved the commanding nature of the offense - seems they went back to the old ways for some reason (maybe to avoid injuries?)

I really hope to see a more aggressive game plan next week. Truth being the mistakes we have recently witnessed are more of a threat to this team than any of our opponents at this point. I want to see them keep the foot on the gas, and break some damn necks!

It seemed like the Packers were content with the game in the 2nd half and were just trying to run clock. I thought maybe it was because they were just trying to prevent injuries and saving themselves for the Vikings (don't know why you'd have to do that).

The Rams (except a few times) hardly generated any type of pressure on Rodgers. He could have done anything. The Rams were running some very odd formations on offense also. They were splitting S. Jackson and the fullback out at wide receiver and it never really worked, yet they still ran it a handful of times.

I sat behind the daughter of the Rams defensive coordinator and she said the Rams will be content with the 24-3 loss. Guess her dad was expecting a lashing...haha.

This victory tied the Packers record for most consecutive wins (12) set by the Lombari Packers of 1961-1962. Over that stretch, the Lombardi Packers outscored their opponents 370-91 with four shutouts, compared to 373-210 for McCarthy's Packers.

The most recent extended winning streak for the Packers (prior to the current streak) was in 1996-1997, when they won 9 games.

This squad will have a chance to break the record next week at Minnesota.

By the way, the Packers have started out 5-0 or better five times in team history. They have won a championship each time.

In defense of Sam Shields, I'm under the impression Dom wants defensive players to do what he did.

Why? It's extra psychological incentive to get INTs. You get an INT, you get a chance to make something happen.

Plus, look at our guys. How many pick 6's have we had the past 3 or so years? We've had a lot. A lot of our guys are playmakers when they got the ball in their hands. Woodson, Collins, T Williams. Do you think Shields wants a piece of the fun too? I bet yes. And I'm all for it.

Now, the mistake he made is he thought he could get outside before anyone else. He misjudged and he was wrong. It happens. No, it wasn't a safety because he didn't step out of the end zone and come back in. The only bummer is he got shaken up in the tackle. That happens. It's the NFL, not soccer.

If anything, I'd rather see our defenders go for the big play than just fall down after INTs. Pick 6s have a way of demoralizing the other team and there's nothing more frustrating to an opposing QB than a pick 6. He didn't even have to make it all the way. Just get as many yards as you can. I want to see opposing Os get so frustrated they start losing their cool.

He took an unnecessary hit. Packers were up by a lot. I'm all for the big play, when it's intelligently aimed for. He had no chance, he should have knelt down or slid. Packers already lost a key contributor to their secondary, can't be stupid and lose another.

Risk vs Reward.
