I wouldn't have been quite so hard on Finley if he hadn't run his mouth last week about the staff figuring out a way to get the ball to the playmaker. Run your mouth, get what you ask for, then drop sure points off the board. Twice. That's what frustrated me last night.

I told Pete last night that great teams find a way to win even when they don't play great. That happened last night. It was a gritty performance by the offense, which was crippled having to play without both of their tackles. And I think this was a signature win for the defense. Looked like garbage practically the entire first half, yet held a good offense to 14 points. Then come out after the half and lock it up for the final two quarters. It was impressive how both the O and the D were able to turn around poor starts to gut out a win against a good team; a team that may have been more motivated than any other team in the league to beat us this year. And in their home, no less. We came to town, took care of business, and got the W. 5-0. Next.

Lost in all this is the fact that Jarrett Bush -- yes, that Jarrett Bush -- had yet another interception last night. So did Charlie Peprah. That brings the Packers up to 10 on the season. Only the Bills (12) have more.

Believe it or not, the Steelers only have 1 interception on the season!

The defense looked aweful in the first half.

Other than that though...great post. Would read again.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

P.S. This feels like revenge for my anal-retentiveness in the other thread. And I like it, because it is deserved. Much love, NSD.

William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I figured that was what you were saying, but it would have been less confusing placed before the part of the sentence you were actually bemoaning.

The only reason I actually brought it up is that I have actually seen people using "alas" to mean something comparable to "hurray"! I couldn't believe it.

This, WPR, is the reason that I started a new thread, like I wrote in the intro. There are wandering arguments that lead away from the original thought.

Zero, feel free to merge it if you so please.

After last night, Aaron Rodgers now leads the league in completion percentage (71.7), yards per attempt (9.6, tied with Tom Brady), touchdowns (14, tied with Tom Brady), passes of 40+ yards (6, tied with Eli Manning and Matt Schaub), and of course, passer rating (122.9).

He is third in the league in completions (129), 7th for attempts (180), 11th for attempts per game (36.0), 3rd for yards (1721), 3rd for yards per game (344.2), 2nd for interceptions (2, tied with Donovan McNabb), 4th for 1st downs (72, tied with Matt Ryan), 5th for 1st down percentage (40), 2nd for longest pass completion (84 yards, tied with Andy Dalton), and 9th for passes of 20+ yards (19).

I don't know how to find the QB rankings for rushes.
