I think Gannon is a pretty good analyst, but it bothers me when someone who is paid to talk can't pronounce words correctly.

I like Gannon.
It really doesn't bother me that he doesn't "prununcicate" words that well.
I don't know where he's from, but it may have alot to do with the way people talk there. I know that people from Wisconsin have a strange accent. I didn't realize it till i worked on the road with a friend of mine back in 1986. People down south said I talked funny, and had a strange accent. When i started to really listen, they were right! Like i noticed alot of Wisconsinites (including me) don't pronounce "Milwaukee" right. Alot of them say MAwaukee. Not "MIL". It's just one of those funny local things.
So i cut Gannon (and others) some slack.

Isn't Gannon MM's buddy? I thought he even helped coach in a couple of minicamps a couple years back.

The point I was trying to make is, maybe Gannon knows more about Havner than we think.

Once again I think Lumpster has the heart and the ability and should make the team.

Couple more bubble players I think that were not mentioned in this thread yet.

Danny Lansanah - LB - Kid has been solid in camp and decent on the field, nothing that stands out but has good range seems solid in assignments. He did have a roughing gaffe this preseason.. but more were he hit the QB than how late. I think they might be a bit scared that we won't make it through waivers. The thing going against him is the depth at LB, especially MLB. But no doubt about it, this kid can play at this level. I really like this kid as a player.

Orrin Thompson - T - I think this kid has a roster spot over the disappointment in Giacomini after the pads went on.. we need a true backup at tackle, unless they claim a waiver pickup that they feel is overall better, I think this kid might have a spot on the 53. Not starting material, but played just well enough to stay around, IMO.

Jake Allen - WR - Said it earlier in the TC.. this kid is a dark horse to stick on the roster because of potential and the difficulty they may have in getting him through waivers. Smith has looked good at times to, but kind of disappeared late in camp. I think this kid may stick as the #6 WR.

Greg mentioned him already, but I really like the overall game of Joey Haynos, brings a blockers mentality to the position and has shown enough in the receiving game IMO. I would keep him over Humphrey based on Tory's injury / availability record of the past couple years. Another kid that can play, IMO.

I think someone is going to offer a nice draft pick for Bishop or Hodge so I would anticipate a trade. I really think Bishop and Hodge can be starting caliber linebackers. I think they're better than any middle linebacker in Detroit. Ahead of Paris Lenon and Jordan Dizon in my opinion.

Havner played very well. I don't think Rich Gannon is right though. I don't think he's near a lock. Tracey White was one of the best if not the best special teams coverage player on this team a year ago. You don't overlook that for two rock solid plays by Havner and for the record, I was a big fan of Havner at UCLA so it's not like I'm being picky or anything.

It's a tough choice but one that's good to have.

I sure would hate to lose either one of these linebackers. It is a solid thought porky and we all know how Ted Thompson loves draft picks. As someone quoted before this could be the first year the packers have to cut starting nfl quality players and get nothing in return for them.

I'd like to see Jake Allen as the #6 WR on the team, definitely.

Poppinga and Chillar have shown me absolutely nothing this preseason, especially considering they should be taking turns stepping up, as they're supposedly competing for the starting spot. If Bishop can play that role well, I see no reason not to start him.

I hope they don't trade Hodge. To be honest I think he can be better than Barnett if he stays healthy. We have some outstanding linebckers, no doubt. Why can draft backers and can't find a corner that can play?
