However, if you're going to piss and moan about equal treatment and inflicting one's lifestyle on another we absolutely have to start with the fact the fundamentalist Christian right has vehemently pushed THEIR agenda of anti-homosexuality such that until very recently there wasn't anywhere in this country in which a gay couple could legally get married. There are still only 19 states in which it is legal.

The baseless equating of homosexuality to rape, the baseless hatred of gays that some other fundamentalists hold, is the only reason why gay marriage rights are contested in this country. It is the only reason why we have pray away the gay camps that are only ever effective in causing psychological damage and, in some rare cases, suicide. It's why we have cases of assault against gay people just for being gay (thankfully, these are rare). It leads to cases of family members and friends being estranged from one another for no other reason than a man loving another man or a woman loving another woman. It's a bullsh*t viewpoint that benefits no one and causes measurable and observable damage to a segment of our society.

This is the difference between my intolerance of your viewpoint and your intolerance of homosexuality: I have a logical reasoning for my intolerance that can describe how we'd be better off without your viewpoint; you don't.

Anyway, I find it necessary to suspend commentary on posts in this thread because I became aware this afternoon of a serious matter. I discovered an AGGREGIOUS incident of capitalist profiteering - just like Dakota has been telling us in virtually every thread that same along regardless of the topic. I was at the grocery store today, and I found a 16 ounce container of honey for $5.99!!! - and that was the cheapest of the three brands available. How can those damned immoral beekeepers be so cruel to the consumers? The price gouging was so horrendous that I had to settle for strawberry jam.

Sorry to go off like this in a thread as important as Gay Marriage - but I guess attacking "Big Honey" is remotely on point.
