Last I heard.. political games would be the holdup and the cost surrounding it.

Last time i heard about it...

Despite their appreciation for the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, Green Bay aldermen are divided over whether to rename a stree t in honor of head coach Mike McCarthy.

Some aldermen support Mayor Jim Schmitt’s proposal to put up a permanent tribute to the coach whose team beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV.

But others oppose the street name change as needlessly difficult and expensive — and quite possibly, they say, a political ploy during a hard-fought campaign season.

At least one alderman thinks the tribute should be put on hold until after the city’s mayoral election is decided in April.

I don't think the naming of a street has anything to do with money ... as per the hold up. Although, I'm down for renaming Holmgren Way to McCarthy Way. I think they should commemorate Ted Thompson in some fashion as well. Name a lake after him or something. That guy made some difficult decisions and prevailed against quite a few odds.

I third the idea of renaming Holmgren Way after 🇲🇲. Still bitter about '97. [assault]

Btw, I don't think Holmgren survives the upcoming zombie plague. You all know what happens to people who lose their cool.

They will. It is just a matter of time. I can see them doing so in a couple of years. He is young no need to rush and do it today.
