I think they'll have him on a pitch count this year.

Well, as for returning punts, I meant both West and Gurley. Gurley could at least fill in on KOs. DD's way too brittle for that duty.

Yes, Ryan Grant is NOT our best option for 3rd down RB. Apparently in your eyes that has equated to his lack of effort to improve other aspects of his game. Okay ... not exactly sure where you came up with that. (Like, wow, why hasn't A.J. Hawk offered his duties on kickoff? Why hasn't he tried even harder to help the team on special teams ... he's only a defensive starter. He must be expendable).

Enter Driver into the discussion. You THINK they'll be limiting his reps this year. Nice unfounded theory. I guess we'll see. But back to using your previous criteria. West and Gurley deserve roster spots because they can not only play in our offense but also contribute on special teams. I mean, DD is "way too brittle" to be playing kickoffs. NERDMANN -- WHERE DO YOU GET THIS SHIT? Did T.O. cover kickoffs in the latter part of his career? Is Reggie Wayne a liability in Indy because he's not returning punts? Are you serious? Assuming your comeback here might be that Driver is less of a factor in his respective offense than Reggie Wayne (an undeniably still elite talent) or T.O. (a truly over-the-hill-almost-40-something-receiver who is currently unemployed) then I'd retort: where do you draw the line? Is it your assessment that magically once a player is deemed a #2 receiver, or borderline #3, that he has to make up for that depth chart position by contributing otherwise?

I don't understand your logic whatsoever. I don't see how it's not OBVIOUSLY a reach to assume that West and Gurley could be plugged into our 2011 roster and provide the same value as Driver. I am utterly BAFFLED that someone could reach that conclusion based on what they've seen from these two young players.

When you have a multiple offense that's mostly predicated on passing then one would think it a luxury to have a surplus of smart, athletic, and tough receivers. Driver runs routes like the seasoned veteran he is. He and Rodgers understand one another. He makes plays after the catch. He's also one tough sonuvabitch.

The fact that his inactivity on special teams is a reason for you to demote him is silly. A Driver-less team this season is anathema to success. Anyone who says otherwise had better provide non bullshit reasons.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.
