Packer fans thoughts.....

Daryn Colledge disappointed Packers didn’t invite him to White House
Most of the Packers visited the White House last week to meet with President Barack Obama. The 2011 Packers.

At least one member of the 2010 team isn’t thrilled with the Packers’ decision to leave players from last year’s team behind.

“It’s a disappointing fact that they didn’t even call guys that helped win to see if they wanted to join them,” Cardinals guard Daryn Colledge said, via Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. “They said it was a logistics thing, but I believe I had the day off.”

We suspect Colledge will get criticized in Green Bay for whining, but we agree with his viewpoint. Going to the White House is one of the cooler parts of winning a title; the Packers players absolutely ate up the experience last week.

All of the guys who helped Green Bay get to the White House should have been allowed to go if they were interested.

I reeeally don't mind seeing Colledge gone, but it is pretty crappy the way he was essentially ignored by the FO. He always struck me as a decent guy who played at a decent level.

The man's right.

Packer players actually brought this up on Twitter some time ago...

Really, just think about it, how on earth is it possible that Alexander Green gets to meet the president while Cullen Jenkins is sitting at home?

Very, very poor execution from the Packers, yet again, just as with the whole team photo fiasco.

Plus, they did so while they were on their way to a preseason game. Should they alter their plans to accommodate a select few individuals? The Packers did bring Mark Tauscher along after he was released from the team. Nobody talks about that move, though.

This was the cards dealt by the lockout. The Packers had an option to either go or not go at all. They chose to go and attempted to make the best of a difficult situation. That's life.

I mean, the least they could've done was extend an invite to those former players, stating the time and place, leaving the logistics to the players themselves.

It would have been nice but it is no big deal. Sometimes things don't go the way you want them to. Like porky says, they were casualties of the CBA process.

I know I'm an outsider on this, but I have to agree with P_I_B and Rock on this one.

The least the Packers should have done was extend the invitation. Then it would have been up to Colledge and et al to work it out with their respective new teams.
They were 2010 Green Bay Packers and at the very least should have been accorded the option to go .

By the way, did Al Harris go?

why anyone would want to go to the White House to shake this President's hand is beyond me.

And, as everyone knows, I was glad to see Colledge gone.

But that said, I think the Packers should have extended the invitation.

Frankly, their rationalization stinks as much as the cable company's each time someone complains of poor customer service.

(oh yes, and the President was scheduled to do a town meeting here in northeast iowa today. i didn't go. i had dishes to wash from yesterday. i have no idea if the president showed up. nor do I care.)

Blame the CBA. If it was done at a normal time, I am sure they would have. Since it had to be squeezed in on the way to a game. Only current players were invited.

Between logistics and team chemistry, it was the only logical choice.

I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.

Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Or if KC needs to win for the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Right now it looks like the only prime worthy games are Det-Minny and KC-Denver (if Denver can clinch a wild card spot)
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : The entirety of week 18 being listed as flex is weird
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Matt LaFleur today says unequivocally "Ted Thompson had nothing to do with the drafting of Jordan Love."

Mucky Tundra (18-Dec) : The real lie is how beast capitalized his name in his message while it's normally spelled with
packerfanoutwest (18-Dec) : haha that's a lie
beast (17-Dec) : Despite what lies other might tell, Beast didn't hate the Winter Warnings, it felt refreshing to Beast for some reason.
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : whiteout uniforms in general are pretty lame and weak. NFL greed at it's worst
Martha Careful (17-Dec) : The Viking uniforms, the whiteout uniforms specifically absolutely suck
beast (17-Dec) : Thanks Zero2Cool, looks a lot better now
beast (17-Dec) : Seems like someone has a crush on me, can't stop talking about me
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : Should be gooder now. The forum default theme went to goofy land.
Zero2Cool (17-Dec) : What the hell
packerfanoutwest (17-Dec) : yeah beast hates the Winter Warning Unies
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Okay I'm glad to know it's not just something happening to me lol
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Zero, did you copy the Packers uniforms from last night and white out the board?
beast (16-Dec) : Oh crap, is the board going to the Winter Warning Uniforms too?!? It's all white on white right now!
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : WR Odell Beckham Jr is officially a free agent after clearing waivers.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : Packers are 6th in sacks.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : RB David Montgomery will undergo season-ending knee surgery.
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Dan Campbell on onside kick with 12 minutes left: In hindsight, wish I didn’t do that
