Packers land undrafted free agents

Like a lot of teams, the Packers didn't waste any time reaching agreements with undrafted rookies Monday.

Wide receiver Tori Gurley of South Carolina and safety Anthony Bratton of Delaware both agreed to terms on a contract and will sign deals when the signing period officially begins Tuesday at 9 a.m., sources said.
The 6-4, 211-pound Gurley, an undrafted rookie, played two seasons for the Gamecocks and caught 44 passes for 465 yards and four touchdowns last season. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 and his 35-inch arm length was the longest of any receiver at the combine.
The 6-0, 213-pound Bratton recorded 66 tackles with two interceptions last season. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds at his campus pro day workout and also posted a 37-inch vertical leap.
Bratton made an official visit to the Packers prior to the draft.
In addition to Gurley and Bratton, Utah wide receiver Shaky Smithson indicated on his Twitter account that he had agreed to terms with the Packers. Smithson also visited the Packers prior to the draft.
The 5-11, 202-pound Smithson only started four games in ’10. He caught 25 passes for 383 yards (15.3) and three touchdowns. He ranked first in the nation in punt return average at 19.07 (two touchdowns) after ranking 33rd (9.46) in 2009. He ranked 61st in kickoff returns at 24.1 yards.
UPDATE: Another reported addition to the roster will be Ohio State running back Brandon Saine. His agent, Dana Kaufman, said this morning that he was putting the final touches on a contract.
In four seasons with the Buckeyes, the 5-11, 220-pound running back rushed 301 times for 1,408 yards (4.4 average) and nine touchdowns. He also caught 55 passes for 616 yards and eight touchdowns.
Saine ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds at the scouting combine and registered a vertical jump of 34 1/2 inches.
The Packers have also signed Arizona State WR Kerry Taylor.
The 6-0, 196-pound Taylor started six of 12 games last year and led the team with 54 receptions for 699 yards and three touchdowns. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds at his pro day and had vertical leap of 38 inches.
Also on board is Middle Tennessee OLB Jamari Lattimore, according to his agent, Tony Agnone.
The 6-2, 230-pound Lattimore tied the school record for sacks in a single season with 11 1/2. Who was the previous leader? Erik Walden, one of the guys Lattimore will be competing against in training camp.
On his pro day, Lattimore ran the 40 in 4.71 seconds and benched 225 pounds 20 times.
You can add South Florida center Sampson Genus to the list, according to his agent, Glen Lansky.
The 6-1, 315-pound Genus was first-team all Big East last year after starting 12 games. He ran the 40 in 5.51 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 28 times at his pro day.
According to his Twitter account, Arkansas guard Ray Dominguez is in the fold as well.
He started 12 games for the Razorbacks last year. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.3 seconds at his pro day.
According to his agent, Chris Cabot, Youngstown cornerback Brandian Ross has signed with the Packers.
The 6-0 3/8, 191-pound Ross ran the 40 in 4.53 seconds and had a 37-inch vertical jump. He was second-team all-Missouri Valley, started his last three seasons and had 223 tackles and seven interceptions in 45 games.
The Hartford Courant has reported that Temple University twins Eli and Peanut Joseph have signed deals with the Packers.
Peanut is a 6-1, 243-pound inside linebacker who was second on the team in tackles last year and bench-pressed 225 pounds an impressive 31 times. The 6-2, 290-pound Eli is a nose tackle who did an amazing 43 reps on the bench press during his pro day.
Agent Chris Martin, said that Arkansas State CB/S M.D. Jennings was heavily pursued by the Packers and signed as a priority free agent.
The 5-11 3/4, 187-pound Jennings ran the 40-yard dash in around 4.5 seconds and has a 35 1/2-inch vertical leap.
Minnesota fullback Jon Hoese Tweeted that he was headed to Green Bay.
The 6-2, 238-pound Hoese ran a 4.78-second 40 at his pro day and bench-pressed 225 pounds.
