The TRUE Neverending Story continues...

Please...somebody make it stop...

I was amused that Florio was disgusted by his own story he was writing.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/23/report-eagles-interested-in-brett-favre/related

Ugh.

Let me repeat that.

Ugh.

Howard Eskin of WIP radio in Philly reports that the Eagles could sign quarterback Brett Favre as a backup to Mike Vick, after Kevin Kolb is shipped out of town.

Sources told Eskin, who serves as a sideline reporter for the team’s radio broadcasts, that it’s “possible” the Eagles will sign Favre.

The move would reunite Favre with Andy Reid, who was an assistant with the Packers before becoming a head coach in 1999.

There was a rumor making the rounds last week that Favre had approached the Seahawks about possibly becoming the successor to Matt Hasselbeck, a move that makes sense given the arrival of former Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as offensive coordinator. The Seahawks supposedly declined. (The Seahawks privately are denying that any of this happened.)

In Philly, Favre would be the safety valve in the event Mike Vick gets injured or regresses. A master of the West Coast offense, Favre would provide a major upgrade over Mike Kakfa. Plus, it would give Favre another chance to ride off into the sunset with a Lombardi Trophy in his pocket, even if he has to pry it from Mike Vick’s hands.

I heard this on the local Milwaukee news.
Hey....if the "Iggles" want to throw a bucket full of money at Favre to ride the bench, i wouldn't blame him if he took it.

Of course Favre would have to be willing to sit on the sidelines if Vick was doing OK. I don't know if the player in him will be willing to do so.

One question......i don't know the answer to this, so anyone that does can answer it.
Is Favre still under contract with the Vikings?
If so, they might want something for him, even if they don't intend to use him themselves.

He's going for the only record no one else can - to play FOR all 32 teams.

His contract with the Vikings was a 2 year deal. He is a free man.

I just wish he would stop calling it "retirement" if he keeps coming back every year.

YESSSSSS! And now, back to the news...

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Glazer-puts-an-end-to-Favre-Watch-before-it-can-start.html

Eagles not interested in 41-year-old QB | Brad Biggs

So much for all of the fun we could have had with this one.

Howard Eskin reported Saturday night that Brett Favre could be a possible addition for the Philadelphia Eagles, raising hope that a Favre Watch could once again develop, the kind of riveting drama we haven’t been able to say no to the last three summers.

But the report didn’t make a lot of sense from the standpoint that it was hard to imagine favre embracing a No. 2 role. Add in the fact that the Eagles were high on rookie Mike Kafka a year ago, and you’d figure he’ll get an opportunity to develop to the point that maybe Philadelphia can trade him like the club is expected to do with Kevin Kolb.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports extinguished the story quickly when he said two Eagles sources were emphatic that Favre is not in the plans for them.

Dare to dream.

@Jay_Glazer

Let's end the uproar now, 2 Eagles sources tell me an emphatic No to Favre coming there to back up Michael Vick. Not the option they are on

The more they say "NO! We don't want him!" the more you can bet he will be an "Iggle".
