I'd take the points over time of possession. Let the stupid RB run up and down the field. Just keep him out of the end zone.

Meanwhile, we'll be throwing TD passes.

Is it reasonable that the run defense improved in the playoffs because we were nursing leads?

I won't be happy until we're number 1 in both criteria. So there.

Actually the run D probably improved in the Playoffs because Playoff teams are smarter than non-Playoff teams - they understand QB > RB.
