Jesus Christ, mate! What are you spending on this gustatory extravaganza?

Much of it (shrimp, bay scallops, all the veggies, salad dressing)I try to always have on hand. I've always got more cheese than I know what to do with. And I try to buy a box of blood oranges every year.
Some of the rest is pricy, but stuff I've been looking at as I try to eat healthier and yet get food I like (e.g. venison instead of beef). If I buy kumquats I'll eat more citrus -- I'm tired of blah oranges and tangerines. Kumquats on the other hand are major cool.
Still others is stuff I bought and need to find a use for. The duck breast I have had in my freezer since the last extravanza I did c. Christmas. And the Captain Morgan -- I have no idea how long ago I bought that to try.
Quail eggs are expensive if you compare them to regular eggs (about 5 bucks a dozen), but three bucks to add a "cute" factor isn't bad.
The fois gras of course was over the top, even with a big "father's day" discount. (And of course politically incorrect as hell.) Completely.
But, yeah, add everything together and it adds up to a lot.
Which is why, though I like entertaining and the insanity that is trying to put fancy meals together, I don't do it more than a couple times a year.
Someday I'm going to find a way to host an over-the-top PackersHome party.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
