How is dancing disrespectful? David sang and danced in the streets to celebrate a god he had the utmost respect for. The majority of politicians in this country are Christian and somehow they arrive at the conclusion that dancing cannot be a celebration of anything?
My question is, what exactly constitutes dancing? Doesn't walking require a bit of body movement? And what if you're clogging and only moving your feet? That law is just begging to start a law suit with someone who walks funny. My friend Juliet would probably get arrested. Moderate cerebral palsy. Especially if she didn't hear them due to being deaf as well. Seriously asking for trouble.
According to the description, a US district judge had denounced public dancing. I'd like to know the context of that case. Would that judge object to a couple waltzing, or was he shown a video of booty shaking at the monument that he found inappropriate? Either way, I disagree with anyone believing they can dictate how a person moves in public, but I have to wonder if he found a certain dance inappropriate and therefore banned all dancing in order to prevent future incidents.
I wonder if they would arrest a Civil War dance troupe... Dancing a few dances that Jefferson himself probably danced...
